Today's Sustainable Feast in the Garden of EdensteemCreated with Sketch.

It's a beautiful breezy day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for abundance!

We made a delicious feast for our volunteers over our handmade earthen rocket stoves  in our sustainable outdoor kitchen today with more than enough food for everyone!

Our multi course meal started with pan seared salmon on garden fresh salad.

Because we like to dine hobbit style, we then made second dinner with steamed sweet potatoes, fried eggs, broccoli & cauliflower with cheese, and sautéed mushrooms and onions. 😄

We made a green salad base of garden fresh picked kale, mustard greens, arugula, chives, and topped it with carrots, Persian cucumbers, sweet mini peppers, white mushrooms, dressed with Braggs liquid aminoes, olive oil, sprouted sunflower seeds, nutritional yeast.

For those who wanted meat today, we served Alaskan smoked salad on top of the salad greens, and drizzled it with sour cream and chives.

We made lots of steamed sweet potatoes! These are one of our favorite crops, and we're giving thanks that it is sweet potato season again. These yummy root veggies have lots of beta carotene and healthy complex carbs as well as vitamin C, manganese, copper, B vitamins, potassium, and phosphorus!

Most of us like them in a variety of preparations, but especially with just a pat of butter and sprinkle of pink Himalayan salt.

Check out @quinneaker's post & video about growing delicious sweet potatoes!

We also made a large platter of our farm fresh eggs! Almost everyone here prefers their eggs cooked to a different degree of doneness, so we made them with a spectrum of yolks from runny to fully cooked and crumbly.

For another side, we prepared lightly steamed broccoli and cauliflower with shredded melted organic Colby cheese and  fresh herbs.

Lastly, we made one of our classic favorites - sautéed mushrooms and onions with more herbs!

Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!
