FlaminGirl's recipes! #94 - Focaccia bread with black olives and cherry tomatoes
Today I bring you a delicious recipe inspired by Italian cuisine but in a vegan version, it is a focaccia with black olives and cherrys tomatoes, it should be noted that the focaccia is very similar to pizza, according to Italian popular culture have similar origins but the pizza was developed and marketed worldwide while the focaccia is a more popular dish within Italy but in many places in Europe know this gastronomic tradition. Another difference between focaccia and pizza is that the thickness of the latter is flatter while focaccia is thicker in consistency.
If more than that we will begin with the preparation of this delicious Italian bread.
Focaccia bread with black olives and cherry tomatoes
My secrets INGREDIENTS
♡ 400 g Pizza dough
♡ 75 g Black olives, boneless
♡ 8 or 10 cherry tomatoes
♡ 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
♡ Thyme and other spices to taste
♡ Salt
PREPARATION
Cooking time: 20min
Total: 25min
Our first step will be to preheat the oven to a temperature of 225 degrees Celsius, it is not necessary to heat it down just at the top.
As you can see I will use pizza dough that you can buy in any supermarket so it will be more practical, although if you prefer to prepare it yourself is also valid, I leave it to your choice. You can go to this link that shows the preparation of dough for pizza
The next step is to stretch the dough very well on a metal tray, you can use your hands, we can also help with a roller, the idea is to leave 1 centimeter thick.
Then we will proceed to place the cherrys tomatoes that we will cut to half and with the help of our fingers we will crush a little to inlay in the mass in order that they are sustained in that place once the mass by the action of the heat grows in size, we will place the olives and we will repeat the same process that we did with the cherrys tomatoes.
The next step is to place a few jets of extra virgin olive oil either with the help of a spoon or the bottle itself. The idea is to cover the whole pizza.
Then season with a little salt, oregano and pepper to taste.
The next step will be to take the focaccia bread to the oven, 20 minutes will be enough for the preparation to be well cooked, although you could leave it an extra time if you like it to be golden, after this happens we must cover it with aluminum foil.
The result is a delicious bread that we can share as an aperitif in a meeting with friends or family.
Carnivores are free to add whatever they want in animal protein, for vegans is ready to eat.
I also advise you to vary the same recipe with other ingredients such as leek, roasted peppers in strips, mushrooms, zucchini, the limit is your imagination.
I let you try this recipe and tell me what you think! ;)
