Homemade Cinnamon Rolls (easy!)
Warm and gooey cinnamon rolls are my FAVORITE, and this recipe is the best I have found...you are in for a treat!
Ingredients
Serves 12
Dough
- 1 tbsp Yeast, dry
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/3 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Butter, softened
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 Eggs
- 4 cup Flour
Filling
- 1/4 cup Butter, softened
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 3 tbsp Cinnamon
Icing
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 oz Cream Cheese
- 2 tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 pinch Salt
Directions
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk.
- Combine the rest of the 'Dough' ingredients and add to the yeast/milk. Be sure to mix well (dough will be sticky).
- Cover mixture with warm moist towel and allow to rise in a warm place (until dough doubles in size).
- Turn dough out onto a floured surface. Handle as little as possible so dough does not become tough.
- Roll to an even 1/4 inch thickness, in a rectangular-ish shape.
- Now time for the 'Filling' ingredients:
- Spread butter evenly on top of the dough.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly on top of butter.
- Roll the dough up (length-wise).
- Slice the roll into 12 (it's fine if some are a bit wonky, they will still taste good!).
- Place each roll into a greased 9 x 13 pan.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- An hour prior to baking, remove from the refrigerator (so rolls can rise again).
- Bake at 400° F for 20 minutes.
- While rolls bake (or the night before), make the icing by beating the 'Icing' ingredients until fluffy.
- When rolls come out of the oven, spread icing on top so it can melt.
- Enjoy!
These look absolutely delicious! Who doesn't like a warm and gooey cinnamon roll, reminds me of Cinnabon.
