Homemade Cinnamon Rolls (easy!)

Warm and gooey cinnamon rolls are my FAVORITE, and this recipe is the best I have found...you are in for a treat!


Ingredients

Serves 12

Dough

  • 1 tbsp Yeast, dry
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 cup Flour

Filling

  • 1/4 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp Cinnamon

Icing

  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 oz Cream Cheese
  • 2 tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 pinch Salt

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk.
  2. Combine the rest of the 'Dough' ingredients and add to the yeast/milk.  Be sure to mix well (dough will be sticky).
  3. Cover mixture with warm moist towel and allow to rise in a warm place (until dough doubles in size).
  4. Turn dough out onto a floured surface.  Handle as little as possible so dough does not become tough.
  5. Roll to an even 1/4 inch thickness, in a rectangular-ish shape.
  6. Now time for the 'Filling' ingredients:
    • Spread butter evenly on top of the dough.
    • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly on top of butter.

  7. Roll the dough up (length-wise).
  8. Slice the roll into 12 (it's fine if some are a bit wonky, they will still taste good!).
  9. Place each roll into a greased 9 x 13 pan.
  10. Refrigerate overnight.
  11. An hour prior to baking, remove from the refrigerator (so rolls can rise again).

  12. Bake at 400° F for 20 minutes.
  13. While rolls bake (or the night before), make the icing by beating the 'Icing' ingredients until fluffy.
  14. When rolls come out of the oven, spread icing on top so it can melt.
  15. Enjoy!
