10 healthy foods that are not yet healthy

in #food7 years ago

Today, something different, namely the truth about 10 foods most people think they are healthy, but that do not exactly make for a slimmer waist.

1. Olive oil

Although olive oil is healthier than margarine, olive oil is just oil, so it's a calorie-rich thing . Use it accordingly. So, more is really no better if you try to watch your weight.

2. Honey

"It's natural" is often said about honey . This may be true, but honey, as you find in supermarkets, nevertheless contains extremely much sugar and too few good nutrients to be called healthy.

3. Juice

214.jpg

Orange juice, apple juice, berry juice ... Juice drinking can be one of the fastest ways to arrive. It's only a minute's shorter for most people to drink 150+ calories away. Clock, sleep, clock, sip and go there.

4. Bread

215.jpg

Too vague ... Many types of bread are ok, but only whole wheat bread or whole wheat bread is really healthy . Most additions to contemporary bread are just unhealthy , even though the bread in question has a hip marketing name like Meerkranen, Waldkorn or Good Start. So choose for whole wheat bread; nothing more, nothing less. Full grain bread, whole wheat bread, whole wheat bread, whole wheat bread ...

5. Milk

216.jpg

According to old nutrition guidelines, 3 portions of dairy would be good and even health promoting for you. However, there is no distinction between real, raw, raw dairy and the skinny, half-full and full milk as you find in the supermarket today . Today, drinking milk has hardly anything to do with cow's milk as it comes from the cow. And milk is not good at all . 😉

6. Cheese

217.jpg

Many people think that if you do not eat meat, you can eat cheese in order to get your proteins . However, if you replace meat as a standard for cheese, that's the fun for your line. Especially full cheeses are packed with saturated fats and calories.

Compare a slice of mozzarella (80 calories, 6 grams of fat, of which 4 grams of saturated fat) with a slice of turkey breast (30 calories, less than 1 gram of fat in total). Volvette 48+ cheese even yields 382 kilocalories and 32 grams of fat per 100 grams of product. Do not get me wrong, I love cheese, but see cheese especially as a treat and not as a health-promoting food.

7. Wine

218.jpg

While wine-and alcohol in general- also some benefits for the health, which stop at one drink per day for women and two for men. More than that, the (supposed) benefits of alcohol are eliminated because of the increased risk of illness and addiction .

8. Fish

219.jpg

Most fish are very healthy , contain little saturated fats and are a good source of protein. However, the quality of some fish has deteriorated as a result of environmental pollution that they are bad for health. Some fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids such as tuna, swordfish, goldmill and king mackerel can also be rich in toxic mercury.

Relatively safe and sensible fish choices are wild salmon (farmed salmon is less healthy), bone, tongue, bass, sea bass, shrimp and lobster. Crustaceans are generally also good for health, as well as canned sardines and mackerel. By the way, locally caught fish can also be infected with toxins; Not any fish species, by definition, is good for you.

9. 0% fat

220.jpg

The fact that there is no fat in a cookie, for example, does not mean that it is healthier than the original fat-burning variant. It is true that some fat-free products contain more calories than the original version because there is added a lot of sugar to compensate for the taste loss. If you want a cookie, take one and keep it at one.

10. Chicken

221.jpg

Chicken meat can be very skinny and beneficial, as long as you take the lean portions, do not fry the chicken and remove the skin . However, when you take a fried Crispy Chicken sandwich with McDonald's, you take 500 calories and 23 grams of fat to you while a hamburger contains only 260 kilocalories and 9 grams of fat. Hence, chicken meat is only better for the line when it is cooked properly. Preferably have a lean chicken fillet, preferably organic.

Nice post and some good tips! I recently saw this post about fats and it relates to points 1, 8 and 9 in your post - Olive Oil which is Omega 6 and then fish fats and that not all fish are healthy. I thought it was a good read as was your post too.
