Scotch Eggs by @princessmewmew - My Way!

A few days ago @princessmewmew intrigued me enough with her Scotch Eggs Recipe that she published on ADSactly Community blog that I finally tried it today. I hardly made those few photos as my family members grabbed it the very second they were finished.

Scotch Eggs with Turkey Meat

I made some changes to the recipe, partially because I didn't have some ingredients, so I had to replace them with similar other ones while the other changes were made as I couldn't resist to try it my way with some own touch.

However, I'm not going to reveal you here the whole recipe as the full credit for it belongs to @princessmewmew, so you will have to follow the links to Original Recipe provided in this article. But I'm going to tell you what changes I have made and what ingredients I added that were not in the original recipe.

Vegeta - Perfect Spice for Every Meal

Firstly, instead 450 g pork sausages, I used about 500 g turkey minced meat and added to it "VEGETA" an almost unavoidable spice in every kitchen in my country.

Vegeta is my country origin spice, a mixture created of several different dehydrated vegetables and salt that goes well with almost any soup, stewed vegetables, salt pies, meat and fish especially if they are grilled.

As I didn't have the spring onion, instead I used the regular onion and finely chopped it. Same goes for canola oil which I had to replace with sunflower oil that I had at home.

All the other ingredients remained the same as in original recipe, except bread crumbs which I didn't want to leave alone, so I mixed them with sesame, wool and sunflower seeds.

During the preparation, my husband and my daughter were watching me suspiciously and curiously as they never saw me preparing anything similar. I have to admit I was curious and excited too to see what would come out of that recipe. But it turned out more than well.

As I didn't have pork sausages and decided to replace it with minced turkey meat, I suppose the taste wasn't that rich as I believe it would be with pork sausages used in the original recipe. Therefore I would call my version of the recipe as...

There is nothing like making the recipe "your own" in a way. I love to experiment with food. It is incredibly rewarding. Especially if it turns out good.

I don't eat much meat anymore, but it does look tempting. Even for a vegetarian like me. BTW did you husband and daughter liked it? Since they were looking over suspiciolusly? lol

hahaha - Yes, they did and my son in law as well. That's why I almost ended up without photos. 😁

I bet they did. As my mom had 4 men in the house. My father, and my 2 brothers. I know all about the pack of hungry wolfs ways. lol It would be a free for all at our house when feeding time comes. lol

Oh I only saw this now! I must the pork is quite fatty and I would like to try it with a different type of sausage next time, perhaps venison or ostrich. Glad your family likes it!

I'm sure every meet may provide different flavor experience and I believe your recipe might be used in many different combinations and still to turn out well! It's a very good recipe!

Ur-muh-gerd! Scotch eggs are one of my very favorites, but I only get them at one restaurant, an hour and a half from my house. I don’t think it’s ever occured to me to make my own at home.... but I’m not a very good cook, so it doesn’t occur to me to try and cook much. But I’m going to head over to @princessmewmew’s page and get that recipe!

It doesn't seem very complicated to me.
Just don't forget to mix one egg (the 6th one) with the meet as that would somewhat stick the mixture together (and as that's maybe the only thing not in detailed explained in the recipe, or I've missed that part).
For the rest, just relax, take your time and enjoy! Even if everything falls apart it would still be tasty! 😉

Yikes!! I might have, and still might forget. I forget to put egg in my meatloaf and pumpkin pies about 25% of the time!

Well, I just wanted to warn you, with best intentions as I saw that you are very new around here, so you might not know that such fishing comments are not welcome by the community. Quite in contrary! And next time maybe, you would run on someone's post (leaving a same or similar comment) who wouldn't even bother if you are new or an old member and even less explain anything, and you will have to learn it the hard way.

Therefore, I would advise you to read at least the Steemit Etiquette to avoid the trouble.
Steemit is a good platform and network with lot's of opportunities but it has its own rules that are nothing like those on some other platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and smiliar.
