The True Power Of Flowers!
"After women, flowers are the most lovely thing God has given the world." - Christian Dior
It seems to be true that flowers are a powerful emotion inducer and improve emotional health. Just look at our social platform feeds and most steemit posts, filled with gorgeous, colourful images.
Micro, macro, roses, daisies, tulips, we see them all!
I decided to go on a big flower-power shopping trip that I could finally beautify my little lifeless city flat again, to lift up my mood and send away the cold winter air.
"There are always flowers for those who want to see them." - Henri Matisse
Today is my turn to share some pictures after enjoying a sunny and warm spring day in the countryside near by a small typical Austrian village called, Neulengbach in Lower Austria, The Vienna Woods.
I am craving the sun rays of the tropics and pleasant morning moods, drinking coffee in an outdoor living-room, surrounded by the sweet smell of pink and white Frangipani's, as well as my favourite Cempaka's. Banana leaves would grow into my windows, Lemon trees would gift me with juicy joys. I was always patiently waiting until I could pick up fully ripe, delicious fruits.
My Garden is the Dream Place picking tropical, exotic Flowers everyday for our Offerings[BaliOHBali]
I felt kind of funny to spend over 60 !! damn Euro's to shower and please myself with lots of plants because past years, living in Bali I had a huge garden filled with tropical awesomeness and this for free.
The Emotional impact of flowers is huge for me!
Flowers boost my morning mood!
Research confirms that flowers might be the perfect pick-me-up for millions who do not consider themselves “morning people.”
“What I find interesting is that by starting the day in a more positive mood, you are likely to transfer those happier feelings to others – it’s what is called mood contagion,” says Etcoff. “The kitchen is the place where families tend to gather in the morning – imagine how big a difference a better morning mood can make.”
Participants of a behavioral study conducted by researchers at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital confirmed that they feel least positive in the early hours but reported being happier and more energetic after looking at flowers first thing in the morning.“The morning blahs, it turns out, is a real phenomenon, with positive moods – happiness, friendliness and warmth, for example – manifesting much later in the day,” says lead researcher Nancy Etcoff, Ph.D. “Interestingly, when we placed a small bouquet of flowers into their morning routines, people perked up.
Do Flowers cheer you up?
Oh Yes, They do and every man should remember to bring some little gifts to their ladies at least once a week:)
In a series of studies, Haviland-Jones et al report that:
-When women were given flowers, they always responded with a ‘real’ duchenne smile, and reported more positive moods three days later.
-When men or women were given a flower, they responded with a duchenne smile and engaged in more prosocial activities (compared to control conditions of being given a pen or nothing).
-Flowers given to elderly people resulted in more positive mood and improved episodic memory!

Thank you! It gives me so much energy when I played with all plants every morning but for now I am not in Bali , so I had to go shopping to beautify my home here in Vienna where I don't have a garden. A few daisies and all is good again :)
