Hi there and hello, fellow Steemians! 😃

It's time for a little update on the FITNESSCHALLENGE I joined. You can see all my original stats and pics... HERE and a little info on my health history HERE.

Two weeks ago I began tracking... well, everything.😏

Let's start with my 💧water💧 intake.

Below is the chart I used. (Let me know if you'd like one for yourself!) Each little drop is about 20 ounces. I'm trying to drink close to my body weight in ounces. This should help clean me out. Should. 😏 I started off pretty strong, as you do.... I'm not really disappointed. The chart is helping. It's a constant reminder to hold myself accountable. (And yes, some of the drops appear drunk. Don't worry about it... 😎 )

🥕 Now a little peek at my food intake.🥕

I knew that I needed to eat MORE food, but fewer calories. After looking at the chart, it's hard to understand why I'm not WAY more unhealthy. I think for this to get better I'm going to have to ... plan meals.😨 We've done this before so it shouldn't be so daunting, but for some reason it is.

And finally, my exercise calendar.

When this started I was ONLY walking the dogs. I totally thought I was walking further than I was. 😏Luckily, @phelimint , who is also running this FITNESSCHALLENGE, told me about an easy to use app called mapmyfitness. It's pretty cool. Though it did show me some things I was sad to learn. 😕

I learned that one dog walk is a mere 1/2 mile, meaning I was only walking for 1 mile per day. I also learned that I only burn about 115 calories during the walk!


This made me start looking at the calories in the things I was eating... No wonder I was gaining weight!

I started doing Ki Yoga (most) every day. So that's pretty great. There has been a noticeable difference in my overall body movement since starting. I've also tried to incorporate dancing into the last couple of weeks, for you know, cardio. 😀 Surprisingly, I'm now able to get through more than 15 minutes without believing death is near. But 30 minutes still seems far away.

The hubs @chrisroberts suggested I do something easy like jumping jacks and increase the number everday. I'm starting that today. 😍 I'm also planning to get some strength training back into my schedule, with and without weights. Probably in the form of HIIT workouts.

Seriously, the biggest issue I'm having is attention span.


I get so darn bored and wanna do something else. Dancing is fun though and I literally have an endless supply of new videos to watch online.

I also found that stretching is rather important, even if I'm only going to walk the dogs. At the end of the first week I had injured my foot from not stretching my calves. I'm still a bit sore, but decided to keep on keeping on after one day of rest.

According to my scale and measuring tape (you can see the actual stats up on the WATER TRACKER), I lost a total of 2 lbs and 4 inches in the last two weeks.


I honestly don't FEEL like I've lost anything and was COMPLETELY terrified to weigh in and measure at the end of the week. I was sure I had failed myself. But... I didn't totally. I feel like I could have done MUCH better. Though I am improving all around, I'm not giving it my all. 😕

I AM doing it. Because of you, Steemit. Somehow it's harder to let YOU down than it is myself.

Humans are weird...🙃

In conclusion, I'm pretty happy with myself, but not too much to start slackin' off. I'll hopefully do SOME kind of check in weekly and bi-weekly I'll do posts like this with all my stats updated. I'm so happy I have a community I feel comfortable in AND I get the support I (feel I) need. So thank you. All of you. 😍

One of my favorite fitness-dance centric instructors is The Fitness Marshall on Youtube/facebook. He is fabulous, fun and has a huge variety of workouts for free. You should check him out. Like you, I get SO bored when I'm trying to do something like yoga or anything 'still' and it helps to mix it up sometimes. I know I need mroe of it though, because UGh, my flexibility is AWFUL.

The FITNESS MARSHALL is my FAVORITE!!!!!! I pretty much have most of his stuff memorized. 😎

The Yoga I'm doing is 'Ki', which focuses on the time of year and season and acupressure points and meridians. Plus, it's a bit more 'motion' focused than just posing. I really like it. It's on a free Fitness Channel on our Roku TV, so I don't know how to send people to it, exactly. I looked up the old (90s) show, but it's not available online, that I can find.

If I were just doing normal yoga, I'd be in a pose and get distracted after like a second. LOL!😁

I do (and used to teach) PiYo, which blends together yoga, pilates and dance/ballet. I've never been a dancer, but I loved the workout. It was so good for my flexibility, I just got bored unless I was actually teaching it.

I don't have TV or know what Roku is... I only watch stuff online. I suppose I shouldn't whine, though, since I still have all of the PiYo DVDs from when I did teach. Now if I could just subscribe to some motivation!!!

Yes. I didn't even MENTION that this week is (no doubt) going to be MUCH harder. And to be honest, I'm probably gonna eat what I want. I mean, IT'S CHRISTMAS!!! LOL! 😍

There ya' go! You have to make life worth living! We tried to make it a lifestyle change, not a "diet." Then we are free to make a decision to eat crap when we decide that is what we want to do but truly, after a couple meals of low nutrient carbs I WANT by big fat salad!

Totally. I can't force myself to do anything. Well, I CAN, but I choose not to. I'm similar, after eating something delicious like.... fried cheese 😋 (which I TOTALLY NEVER eat), I crave a big ol' salad too!

Now where's my Christmas pie?!

Reading through your fitnesschallenge post feels like a workout (in a good way). I don't think so much about how much effort really goes into a commitment like this but we are with you all the way! Sorry that I don't pay much attention to all the singing related stuff (I am tone deaf) but I am thinking of writing more about my ideas on physical + mental fitness and it is interesting to read about both your mental and physical state as a result of doing this challenge :)

I totally didn't know either! TBH, after getting SUPER sick and then working to get better, I go so much better I literally didn't have to work as hard... or at all. 😏 I spent many years just doing whatever I wanted (in regards to diet and exercise). I was pretty active though, then a couple of years ago (story still not told...) a big source of my physical activity was taken away. And come to think about it, my diet got worse then too...

Anywho- yes. Keeping track is quite the task, but actually DOING it... well, it's a pain in the butt! 😂

Physical and mental go hand in hand. The Yoga lady we watch/workout with (on TV) is always commenting on how revolting the feelings are that come up when doing different poses. Even if I can't entirely identify the WHY, it's definitely revolting when I hit something.

Don't worry about the singing stuff. I was doing a test, that worked. I didn't think I'd get any more votes than I did based on how many followers I have and such. I'm going to a write up on how most people that play games and contests are minnows, and when asking for upvotes as part of the contest, makes it's nearly impossible for them to win.

I mean, I'M AWESOME. 😁 And only got 13 votes in a week. But as mentioned, I get VERY few views still.

I'm just a stickler for fair. Plus, I DID win 2nd place, which pays out $7 SBD!!! WHAT?! So, I'm pretty stoked, but feel it's not fair for me to keep entering each week when there are only 3-4 contestants. It's too easy. I like competion, but I want it to be fair. If someone is better than me, THEY SHOULD win. In fact, I like that, cause then I'm pushed to try harder next time. But if I'm just winning by fault... meh.

Okay, this got out of hand fast.... LOL!

Well, I am thinking about a contest not just between individuals, but between countries like #teamaustralia and #teamusa for example, something that is like a 'war' that will bring out the best in creativity so you can feel like competing against some of the best out there, what do you think?

I think that's a great idea! I know that #steemusa is working with many of the other countries. Are you in that Discord group?

Also... turns out, I won the karaoke contest! I only lost in one category- votes, and only by one. People DO like me.😍

I've spread myself pretty thin so it is hard to keep up with all the things happening on steemit and Discord/Telegram/Steemitchat :p

I'd love to see a little bit of friendly competition between the countries and see if it will help generate more interest and creativity all round :)

If you have Netflix watch the new BEASTMASTER show. It's got the BEST friendly competition between countries. It's so much fun!

Will have to have a chat to @choogirl about what kind of challenge #teamaustralia can throw up against #teamusa, hopefully nothing too daunting like Beastmaster :D Would be cool to have a celebrity steemit host for it though :)
