Why Do People Lose Motivation To Achieve Their Fitness Goals?

in #fitness3 years ago

To get started something for the first time, you need to be motivated. You have some reasons or you want to see some specific results or you want to be like somebody else. There are a lot of things that can motivate you to start your fitness journey.

When you are motivated, you want to achieve that anyway. But what happens that people lose motivation to achieve their fitness goals?

When you set any goal, it should be realistic. Sometimes people set goals that are not realistic. Maybe you see someone in the magazine, and you want to be like her or him. The fact is, the girl in the magazine does not look like a girl in the magazine.

There is a difference between what you see and what it actually is. Maybe because of publicity, drawing people's attention, things are presented that way. If you want to set your goals to be like someone you see in the magazine, that can be an unrealistic goal. A healthy and fit body can have different shapes. You need to set goals that are realistic, measurable, and achievable.

It is easy to start something when you are motivated. But then what? You have to do that continuously. In order to achieve your fitness goals, you have to have discipline. It will help you keep going. Even though you want to achieve your fitness goals, you lose motivation and cannot achieve that due to a lack of discipline.

Sometimes we make simple things complicated. It is not complicated. When you make the whole process of achieving your fitness goals complicated, you are more likely to lose motivation at some point. Break your fitness goals into small actional steps. And go for achieving that small step. It will add up and you will be closer to your goals.

Your mindset can hold you back from achieving your fitness goals. You need to push yourself forward. When the motivation comes from inside, that's unstoppable. You are not looking for someone to motivate yourself. You know how you want to see yourself in the future. You believe in yourself. So no matter what, you will find a way to move forward and achieve your fitness goals.

Thank you so much for reading this post. Please feel free to share your thoughts about why people lose motivation to achieve fitness goals. That's it for now. See you around!

You need to set goals that are realistic, measurable, and achievable.

This is the main thing I advise people on when they are considering a program like my own to lose weight. One thing that also works for me is I printed out a picture of what I would like to achieve fitness wise, and i put it on the wall next to my desk. Anytime that I am feeling like sitting the day out it is really amazing how much that one photo inspires me to get out the door and exercise, even if it is a half-assed session.

That's great! That photo gives a reminder whenever you look at it. So you are consistently working on it to achieve your fitness goals. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

it has done wonders for me. Scales are unreliable, photos don't lie. The important thing is to not flex for the pictures though, just stand there preferable for a number of angles and then show the pictures to no one or they might get the wrong impression. :)
