The Old Dog Asks: Did THAT Sweatshirt Really Make me More Attractive to Women?
Why were so many women approaching me? This didn’t normally happen!
Does a woman's perception of a man change depending on what he is wearing? I had never given it much thought. All of that changed one day a few years ago.
How I Came to Wear a "Uniform"
I have a good boyhood friend who worked for many years for the Toronto Fire Department. Once, when I went to visit him he gifted me a pullover (sweatshirt) with the Toronto Fire Department logo on the front and the words, in gigantic lettering, "Toronto Fire" on the back.
Little did I know what would happen next!
Disclaimer: I've been a happily married one-woman man for over 32 years!
Actually I was dressed like a "bum" but what was written on my back had the women swarming like a school of fish!
What Did I Experience While Wearing a “Uniform”?
All of a sudden women started approaching me. With a friendly smile and a cooing voice they'd say things such things as:
- "Oh wow! Are you really a fire man?"
- "Ooooh! Do you work for Toronto Fire?"
- "Hi there! I see that you're a fireman!"
I'd answer:
- “well, um er, no…..no,no,no, oh, oh, because of this shirt? No, no, this was give to me by my friend.
- My friend works for Toronto Fire not me.”
What Was Their Reaction to The Fact That I Wasn't a Fireman?
When they'd learned the truth they’d say something like: “Oh oh, I see” and walk away!
My 10 seconds of attractiveness and fame were quickly over! Obviously the attraction wasn’t me but the perception of me as a fireman!
What my Friend Told Me
When I told my friend what had happened to me when I wore the “uniform” he replied very nonchalantly, “ Oh yah that’s normal. It happens all the time.”

What Some Say About The Seeming Attraction!
According to Psychologist and Relationship Expert, Dr. Jeanette Raymond, Ph.D., "The 'uniform' may signify that the man is able to manage life's troubles. We all want those to whom we are attached to be able to stay solid when we are a mess so that we can count on them. It spells safety and security."

Maybe it's cause of the idea that they save people from danger or death.
Yes, the teacher's uniform and in the Philippines teachers are very much respected. It gave me access to seats on full trains or any public transpo and even discounts and special treatments on some places... hmm .. cause of this post I realize how the human brain is so conditioned :)
The original answer to your title question was that they were after you because you seemingly were able to have a school of fish following you everywhere. Now, I guess I have to defer to the uniform! ;)
The only time I really had women approaching me in that fashion was on a Halloween day where I was wearing a tight black strapless dress with full length sleeves, magnificent made up breasts, black tights to make sure no one could see the hair, a bit of a high heel shoe, a silk scarf, long blonde haired wig and a scarf. No hair showed. As soon as the women realized who it was, the heat was on!? It was very pleasant and equally strange. the exact opposite effect happened with the men, luckily. LOL!!!

I'm not sure if I'd be attracted to a man in uniform. I'd think further down the line and I'm sure I wouldn't be happy with someone in a dangerous profession. Sure, someone being able to manage life's troubles is all well and good, but I'd much rather have a man with a long lifespan to grow old with.
Luckily my man is able to handle life's troubles just fine, without the dangerous profession part ;-)
What "you" want and what your hormones want under "selfish genes" influence are two distinct things separable only for those with a modicum of self awareness (in other words, to a very small minority).

Yes dangerous. He explained to me that they are so well equipped and trained now not to put their lives in danger. Actually though he's saved many people over the years and not just from fires.

LOL Actually, mutual friends talked me into volunteering in the Fire Departments ambulance. A husband was not in the plan, but apparently God had other plans for us.

Well everything is already commented the post is trending I missed a vote, but maybe I found my life calling :D out of the whole public service sector being a firefighter seems like the best deal, police are treated like garbage and some are coupled with the politics and abuse of power I wouldn't do it.
Politics :|, Health care :|, that's basically it, insurance should be counted in even if it's the "free market" the only people that seem to do something meaningful are the small amount of moral people in those fields taking all the blame and doing all the work :| sad story, but that is reality.
Let's get ourselves a steemit uniform :D and finally earn our place in the world as a cult :D I've said it before but it really cant be stressed enough, holly upvotes father steem and the spirit of the resteem :| where are my millions :D we need more subscribers aye, sad story number two :D I like it the way it is, a small village, I'd say we need more of these, make 5 steemits, one for pictures one for twats(fb/twitter)one for artists(so we are safe from all the spam) one for business people and investors(my original idea :) :D yeah sure I just coined it first, or am about to) and here we are in the pinnacle of existence the steemit topchain :D actually that is a nice marketing scheme again my millions twice please :) so maybe billions already, what is next well I wouldn't give that away now would I :D still running on the impossibility of free lunches after all.

Ha fantastic! Yes, I have seen women in my work melt when firemen have been called out over something daft to do with the fire alarm. It's quite alarming!
So it's confirmed by @meesterboom. Applies also in Scotland!
I have the fireman shirt and the fireman hat that I got from my son-in-law who is a fireman. I don't get any women or girls giving me any special attention when I wear them because I'm older and don't really like the the fireman type. I think that it's more than just the uniform.
But as to why women are attracted to firemen, it's because they are usually tough, brave and rugged and that will always be attractive to women.
