Interview with an elf
In tonight's show - Dinner with Alec-
Our star guest is a member of the High- elf Counsil mrs. Vydona Clearwater
- Welcome, welcome mrs. Clearwater. I am so glad you accepted our invitation.
Yes, I felt the need to attend this show. As a member of the oldest race on the planet we find it vital to communicate with you, the young ones. The elves should lead all younger races to better, brighter future. After seeing your interviews with an orcish clanlord and a dwarven aristocrate I saw how much guidance you ,young races, still need.
Indeed.... Well, I am sure we all are glad you blessed us with your presence.hhmmm(clears throat). Forgive me, but I am going to be straight forward, we are all dying to hear about elves and magic. We all know your race is the only one adept in using magic. Can you explain us, why?
Of course I will explain, young Alec. We have been on this planet for far longer than all of you and we learned to live in harmony with it. Our legendary first magician Landar Shadowbear meditated and the planet talked to him. Planet taught him about the secret energies that have the power to unlock our hidden abilities. This was planet's gift to us for our way of life. On of the gifts we recieved was immortality. We managed to harness those energies into special relays we call Mother pools, giving all elves immortality.
What is so special about your way of life, that is so different from our ways of life.
You asking this question is just a mirror of yoir race's age. Of what you call "4 major races" only we live in harmony with nature and ourselves. All of you want to harness the planet to make yourselves stronger, more productive, richer. Im your haste you are blinded by short term benefits, so you can't see the big picture. As long as you keep this way of thinking you will miss out all the gifts that could be handed to you. Our houses, our schooling system, our industy, our economy in general is harmony-orientated. We are immortal and we do not want to harm our planet in any way, because in the end we will suffer the consequences.
So you are saying you immortality came from your wisdom. Funny because we often think that wisdom comes with age. Like you explained, you can harness magicka produced by your body cells, so how does it manifest?
It manifests depending on one's nature. At the young age of 25, elves are being taught how to control their powers. Some have more success, some have less. For example if an elf has a stable and balanced personality he will most likely be the "element wielder". They are the most common, and dependimg on the skill they can control basic elements to some degree.
There are also the "life-givers". They have the ability to control flow of the life force.
Myself, I am a "pusher". We have the ability to manipulate gravity, which allows us to move objects.
Technology influences other societies greatly. Technology is propelling our growth and forcing us forward. What are your views on technology?
Like I explained before, everything we do must not offend nature in any way. That is the principle that is also present in our approach to technology. Reley that are actually smaller versions of Mother pools are the hearts of all our machines. Synergy of the machine and the user is of utmost importance to us, that is why Mother pools are the basis of our technology.
I guess your race has everything figured out. Just one last question before the commercial break. I personaly want to know this. Does immortality becomes a nuisiance after a while.
Of course not. It is a blessing we earned through our philosophy. We use that blessing to always improve ourselves and considering we have all the time in the world so we tend not to make rash decisions. Let me put it this way. You waste half of your short lifetime, and we make every moment meaningful.
mrs. Clearwater, this has been very insightful. Looming forward talking to you more. We will be back shortly after the break.

The best so far!
Thx. To be honest I wanted to show alternate ways of approaching life, society, economy. I used fantasy races because I am a fantasy geek, but the message is in society. This idea started as a discussion between me and my friend of how a neandrtal society would look like

Wow, this is great storytelling. The form of an interview is somewhat unique and it got my attention at first sight.
Thank you for your compliments
One of the lesser races. I was thinking about ogres
Keep it out,
your community is with you :)
This is awesome and has given me a respect for elves that I didn't really have before. I've always found the elves to be a pretentious, stuck-up species.
That being said, both the elves and the orcs seem to have a lot more in common than we think :D
Both elves and orcs are depicted differently depending on the writer who wrote the lore. In my nations folklore elves are usually depicted as pranksters, bad boys who are capable of both good deeds and mischieves. In this series of post I actually just wanted to say what other kind of societies and philosophies are possible beside our own. And in this post elves are also kind of pretentious. Probably everyone sees them like that
Nice one, this was the best for me out of the 3 interviews you did, but maybe I am being subjective 'couse I love elves :)
What's next? Who will talk to Alec on the next show?
