Day 26 - 5 Minute Freewrite Challenge - Prompt: a shoe

When you do the Freewrite challenge, you get a prompt and you set a timer of 5 minutess and write whatever come to your mind.

Here is my submission for the day and I name this story - The Inheritance.

He walked inside the vault expecting heaps of gold coins, jewelry or bags filled with currency notes. Surely his billionaire uncle would have kept only those in the vault.

The Vault was empty.

Not quite.

In the middle of the vault was a pair of shoes.

A pair of worn out black dusty shoes.

He screamed in disappointment.

No It can't be.

Surely his uncle did not want him to inherit an old pair of his shoes.

Maybe he has left the valuables elsewhere?

But then remembered what the lawyer had said. All the inheritance meant for him was to be in the vault.

He started crying. How was he to pay off his debts? This was his hope. How will he face the Russian money lender in the evening today?

How?

This can't be even his size, he thought to himself.

He tried on the shoes, still crying. Well, Great! At least the shoes fit.

"Why can't there be a bag with a million dollars in it in the vault? Why not? Let there be one." he screamed to himself sobbing at the same time.

He knelled down crying but was startled by the sudden thud sound.

He looked around to notice a big black leather case, that wasn't there before.
