Sandy brought them each a glass of wine and took a seat next to Claudia.

"Did you find anything?"

"You have to read this. I still can't believe it."

She took a sip of wine and moved the laptop over to Sandy so that she can read.

On 10 October 1976 a tragedy took place in the new Bannister luxury apartments. A fire broke out due to faulty wiring, and a family of three was killed. Pat and Cynthia Goldsmith was trapped with their son Damian, and suffocated due to smoke inhalation. The only living sibling Emily Goldsmith (8) was not at home that evening.  Although there was not much damage due to the fire, the police found the three people dead in the boy's room. No foul play is suspected.

"Well I'll be damned. That would make Emily about fifty years old today. I wonder if we would be able to find her?"

"I'm sure going to try."

The phone rang and Sandy left the room to talk. She came back a minute later and announced that Derek was coming by.

"Is there something going on between you and Derek? I saw the way you two looked at each other."

Sandy smiled.

"Don't be silly. We're just friends. We've known each other for ages!"

"You're suppose to marry your best friend you know..."

"I don't think I'm ready to be in any kind of relationship...not now in any case."

They sat talking for a while when the doorbell rang and Sandy jumped up to go and open. Her face lit up when she saw Derek, and Claudia could see that he felt the same way.

Sandy fetched him a glass of wine and he took a seat next to Claudia.

"There is definitely a spiritual presence in your apartment. It feels like it is a small child, but I didn't see anything specific. The only thing that we can do, is to help it move on, and the sooner the better."

"I saw it yesterday. I had to fetch something from the apartment and I saw the boy standing there in the doorway.....Wait ... let me show you what we found tonight."

She fetched her computer on the kitchen table and gave him the story to read.

He shook his head after reading.

"How devastating...the poor soul had been lost for nearly forty two years. Are you going to try and find Emily?"

"Definitely, we just don't know where to start."

"Leave that to me. I might know someone at social services that could assist, and I would suggest you staying here until this entity has left your apartment. " Derek said and smiled.

Claudia went to fetch another bottle of wine. She poured them each a glass and thanked them again for all their help. She finished her wine, and felt like a third wheel. She excused herself to check on the boys, and after checking on the boys she went back to fetch her laptop from the kitchen. She could see that Derek and Sandy was in a deep conversation.

She didn't want to bother them, and grabbed a glass of water from the kitchen before going to her room.

She lay in bed thinking about the events of the last few days and hoped and prayed that everything was going to be back to normal in a few days. She might never have met Sandy or Derek if it wasn't for the so called ghost, and by the looks of it, she had found herself a great set of friends. Perhaps there was a reason behind all of this happening.
