Roy told Patty one day.

“What?” she said, coming out of the other room naked as a jaybird. He stared for a moment the shook his head like a dog shaking water. Patty smiled. Men were SO predictable.

“Um....what...oh yeah " he said. "_I’ve discovered a new thing. It’s only been around for about a century or so. It’s been rather highly refined in the last decade or so though.”

“Well don’t keep me in suspense” she told him as she rubbed agains him like a cat. "Tell me.”

“Explosive Fabrication.” He said

“Why is making explosives pertinent?” she asked” and you have your history wrong. They’ve been making explosives much longer than a century. Gunpowder is OLD.”

“You misunderstand” Roy told her "I don’t mean making explosives, I mean using explosives to make other stuff.”

“Oh?” She said "That IS different”

“Indeed it is.” He said "Hot Shock Wave Consolidation, Hot Explosive Consolidation and Hot Vacuum compaction are indeed different. Materials that can’t be joined together with other techniques are perfect examples. Aluminum/Copper, Titanium Aluminide is interesting don’t you think? The VERY interesting part for our purposes is that it is effective at the nano level. Think of it as a tiny sledge hammer.”

Patty didn’t answer. She was staring off into space, thinking so hard that Roy smelled smoke. Patty played dumb blonde sex kitten very well, but inside that gorgeous head of hers resided an awesome intellect. She was probably genius level smart. She didn’t advertise that but he was catching on. He suspected that she was much smarter than he was.
