#10: Naomi - Bad Times Are Coming
Namomi and her niece, who’s name was Julie, took turns tele-operating the dragon drone.

Bad times were coming. If they were to survive they must prepare. Most of the time the dragon-drone hunted trash. The more carbon they had the more SSmoke they could make.
But they had to eat...and they had no money so going to the grocery store was right OUT.
That left foraging. The Dragon-drone was good at that. If it could find trash it could also find food.
Naomi was good at fishing....Julie was better at hunting birds. The little dragon drone could ‘punch’ WELL above it’s weight. Catching a duck was NO problem...a goose only slightly more so. Dove , and Pigeons were easy. Squab was treat that they had fairly regularly.
“Naomi” Julie sounded a little bit scared.
“Yes dear?” Naomi answered. She had just woke up. She was drinking a cup of coffee before taking her turn at operating the dragon-drone.
“I think you better look at this.” yup...Julie certainly sounded uneasy.
Naomi and Julie were becoming experts at teleoperation of the Dragon-drone...they had learned how to ride ‘shot-gun’ for each other. In other words Naomi could ‘plug in’ and see what Julie saw.
“Yup...that’s bad.” Naomi agreed.
The water had overflowed the river banks.....the town was flooding.
“What should we do?” Julie asked.
“I dunno. “ Naomi replied. “Give me some time to think about it. I’ll take over the drone while I do.”
“I stand relieved” Julie said. She got a kick out of talking nautical. “I’ll fix some breakfast”
She did that. Shortly thereafter Naomi was lured away from her drone piloting by the heavenly smell of ....she didn’t know WHAT it was but is surely smelled good.
“Oh..this tastes MARVELOUS” Naomi complimented the cook “ What is it dear?”
“Remember rule one about food” Julie giggled.
“Oh yeah...I forgot” Naomi agreed and continued to eat.
“If you like it...just shut up and eat it...” she thought to herself “You might NOT like what it is if you ask”.
She’d learned that lesson the hard way when deployed overseas. Some of the things those people ATE! You’d think it would gag a maggot..but oddly enough sometimes it tasted pretty good.
NOT Kimchi or thousand year old eggs though...NOT.
Just no.

When watching the LameStream FakeNews Media
it's hard to tell what’s true or when they are lying isn’t it? It seems that they are more interested in influencing public opinion than they are reporting the facts.
Well this perks my interest,
Two vixens? or, (need to catch up on story), piloting a flying Dragon...even if its a drone, another story I must catch up, the squab catching is a delightful meal for my imagination.
Yeah, sometimes it is best not to know, especially if you are hungry.

Those 'bugs' can be as big as your hand, IIRC.
Crunchy on the outside, creamy in the middle!

Oh I know how big they were...they were as common as mosquitos in the BombDump..the security lights attracted them.
Definitely Wilbur (who was rescued) and the other people, is in an extreme situation of survival due to the enormous inudations that are having. They are in a period of forced and violent adaptation, which nature imposes on them. Now we have to wait if the available technology helps them improve, at least, their food conditions. We continue with the next chapter
