#7 :Restore the Reserves

“Good Choice” Blue said. “More bulk material will be required than is currently available in the operational reserves. Please provide material for upload.”

Oops.

Levi looked outside. Crap. Still raining. Cold too. Oh Well. Might as well get 'er done while no one was watching. Then he could drink whisky and watch porn while the coat was being fabricated.

If the Magic Wand was too low on materials to make a Duster then it was probably too low to make a raincoat either, he thought. Oh well. He’d make do. Levi was good at making do. He found a blanket (for warmth) and plastic trash bags (for water-proofing), and some duct tape that he’d got from the dollar store dumpster.

Using some scissors he'd found he cut the edges of the trash bags so that they laid flat. Then he cut a head hole in the blanket. Finally he duct taped the plastic to one side of the blanket and double taped all the seams as best he could. The field expedient poncho might keep him relatively dry and relatively warm as long as the duct tape held it all together. He hoped it’d last long enough.

He opened the door and trudged through the cold and drippy fog to the trash dumpster. Once there he gathered up as much random trash as he could carry back to his storage unit. He made several trips. Finally the duct tape came loose in the rain and he began to get wet.

Time to stop.

Once back inside his storage unit he piled it all on the floor in one big heap. His improvised poncho was messed up so he added it too.

Then he pointed the magic wand at it. A laser shown forth from the tip of the wand and vaporized the pile while the magic wand sucked all the vapors up. He was amazed that so much stuff could fit in such a small wand.

Oh. Well. Time for a whisky. Lucky he’d had the Magic Wand make plenty earlier. That might be why it had low reserves
