#28: Levi - Place to Live

.......................................................................................................................................................................................

Corey Walega and Keith Sajak were sitting on their porch, enjoying the evening air when Corey noticed something odd. He nudged his housemate. “Will you lookit that? Isn’t he cute?”

“Down boy.” Keith said then turned to look. “Oh wow.”

Levi was rolling down the street standing on his uni-wheel. He was moving much faster than a normal rider of electric uni-cycles. In fact he was going much faster than most electric uni-cycles COULD go. He was moving at motorcycle speeds. His beard was flowing behind him in the wind. Wrap-Around sunglasses hid his eyes, his face was barely visible beneath the brim of his hat, which somehow, stayed in place. His black leather duster fluttered in the breeze. He was wearing a backpack (a nice one too…it looked like it was also made from leather). He held a staff or stick in one hand. It seemed to be about six foot long. One end of the stick was resting on his boot. He held it in an upright position. It could have been a flagpole. The thumb of his other hand was hooked in a backpack strap. He sped along. Other than the sound of his coat flapping in the breeze…he moved silently, quiet as a ghost.

He leaned as he went around corners. He appeared to be completely at ease. The gay couple found him to be VERY attractive, in a Gandalf sort of way.

“I saw him first” Corey said as Levi barely slowed when he hopped the curb at the vacant house next door. He quickly rolled up the sidewalk to the steps. He seemed to be in a hurry. Levi stepped off his uni-wheel quickly, lifted it like a briefcase and hurriedly made his way up the steps, using the staff for balance. He stepped quickly to the front door. He was oddly bent over, his legs held tightly together. He produced a key, unlocked the door and hurried inside. It had only taken seconds. If Corey and Keith hadn’t been sitting on the porch watching they’d have never noticed his arrival.

“Looks like we have a new neighbor Corey.” Keith said.

“Yessssss!“ Keith stood up and began walking quickly across the yard.

“Wait for me!” Corey followed. Keith was already across the yard and on the porch, knocking on the door.

“Hi there” Keith said when Levi opened the door. “We live next door. Are you moving in?”

Levi stood in the doorway in a curious posture. He seemed to be hunched over holding his knees together. He looked out the door at the little man.“Sure am.“

“Good” Keith said. “This house has been vacant for too long. Corey and I, this is Corey, were beginning to get worried. Drug dealers you know. We were afraid that they would move in here. You don’t sell drugs do you? Oh I’m sure you don’t. Big strong men like you don’t sell drugs.”

Levi looked at them for a minute….judging. “Yeah. I’m moving in. As you can see I just got here. It’ll take me a while to get this place into shape. No…I don’t sell drugs. Is that a problem in this neighborhood?”

“Oh Yes! Unfortunately it is.” Corey said. “Nasty people. I’m so glad you don’t do it.”

“And the Police” Keith said” The police are always slap squadding.”

I'm

@everittdmickey
.
I write
SPECULATIVE FICTION
I have other books on Amazon.
Sometimes I also comment on the news

Sometimes it's hard to tell fiction from the news.

Sort:

Slap Squad.....
kind of like, "Stop resisting!" leading to overuse of Riot Batons?

We are watching the development of a super character who will be a defender of the rights of the weakest: "Mr. Levi" ... It is likely that Corey and Keith are part of their support staff ... It seems that there will be problems with police.

owwe.....nice post sir
thnxxxx for share

@everittdmickey i like this fictional story
A place to live
Glad levi finally got a place to live

Arguably, it all started here in New Zealand. In 2009, a fake news website reported Hollywood star Jeff Goldblum had died in the Far North. "Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set," reported a site branded Global Associated News.
As it's been said, a lie can travel around the world while the truth is still lacing up its boots. And on social media, that lie travels fast.
It is made all the more difficult for many people to discern what is real, when this year's truth is stranger than fiction.

Awesome story sir.... Keep the good work up. You are the best.
Lovely post, made my morning
