Chapter 88: Shaniqua woke up in a van

.

She was going for a ride, her last one likely as not.

“You thought you could pull a fast one on me? On ME?” The Mayor was standing beside the van looking in. It’s side cargo door was open. He was literally frothing at the mouth "A lot of people know more now than is good for me now because of you. The Feds might even get involved. They might want to ask you some questions. I can’t have that. Do it boys”

He slid the door shut. It’s hard to slam a sliding door but he tried.

“One thing after another”

I muttered to myself.

Jenny didn’t answer. My life had been so strange lately. It seemed so unreal...maybe it wasn’t what it seemed. "Did I die and not notice? Am I dead?”

“Oh no sir. You’re as alive as you have ever been. As far as the government is concerned you are though, if that’s what you meant.” she replied. "All of your online records have been moved to the ‘dead file’ so to speak. You are officially deceased.”

“I suspect that you would say that no matter what.” I muttered "Dead sounds boring. All that sitting around on clouds and singing or eternal bar-b-que. I like bar-b-que as much as any texan BUT...I’ll believe what you say until I learn better.”

Shaniqua decided that publishing that story

.....about being interrogated by the police might not have been the best idea she’d ever had. Oh. Well. Too late now. Not that she would have changed anything except that she’d have slept with a gun under her pillow.

She had regained consciousness to find herself crammed into a vehicle of some sort with several big smelly men. They looked at her naked body then looked at each other and grinned.

"It’d be a shame to let this fine, fine piece of dark meat go to waste.” one of them said hopefully.”

“You have a definite point” another of them said. He was unbuckling his belt. "Me first”

“Why do I always get sloppy seconds?” the first one asked.

"Don’t complain” the driver said. He was the straw-boss when the mayor wasn’t present "At least you get a piece. I gotta drive this damn Van. The boss wouldn’t like it if I stopped. Make it quick. We’ll be there soon.”

The thugs gang raped her. They weren’t gentle either.

Neither was she. She wasn’t the least bit fatalistic ,she was strong for her size, limber as a cat and slippery as an eel. She put up a fight. One of the thugs would be singing soprano if he lived.

“Grab em by the balls and their hearts and minds will follow” she’d heard it said. Well he’d likely not be following anyone anywhere. She grabbed them alright, and almost ripped them off. He’d squealed, and bled, like a stuck pig. Then crawled into the rear of the van and curled up into a fetal position, held himself and cried.

She’d also got another one in the eye pretty good with her thumb, he’d probably loose it. She’d TRIED to stir his brain with her thumbnail, but she didn’t think that she had succeeded. Her thumb was too short. She had icky stuff on it though. Unfortunately there were many of them and only one of her. She was definitely fighting above her weight class so the outcome was inevitable.

The van and it’s two escort vehicles pulled into the scrap yard. The mayor always sent plenty of ‘muscle’ on ‘final rides’. He never took any chances about anything.

“Ah Shit” One of the thugs who had ridden in the lead car said when he saw the naked, bruised and bleeding Shaniqua pulled from the Van

“ I knew I should ridden in the Van” he said "I missed out .”

“Those guys had all the fun.” another one grumbled.

“It wasn’t that much fun.” the straw boss said. "Trust me on this.”

“Umph!” The one that was holding Shaniqua released her, bent double and puked. Shaniqua had been down but she wasn’t out. She’d back kicked him with her heel in the family jewels. Another candidate for the choir.

“See what I mean” The straw-boss said.

She ran.

“ Yup.I see what you mean” One of the thugs said. He’d pulled his gun and taken a shot at her. He missed. He was a lousy shot

“Bang!”

“Put that damn thing away” The straw-boss said. "You might hit one of the guys. Catch her but don’t kill her. I want her to be alive when she goes into the shredder. I love it when they scream.”

Everyone put away their guns and looked at him.

“Well?” the straw-boss said " What are you all just standing there for? Go GET her!”

Shaniqua had just been brutally beaten and gang-raped yet she led them a merry chase. To no avail. They caught her, beat her some more, then dragged her to a platform overlooking the shredder.

“It damn well took you fools long enough.” The StrawBoss said. "It’ll be dawn soon. We need to finish with her before the day crew arrives.”

He turned to the control panel, flipped a few switches and punched a button or two. Lights came on, machinery activated, and the conveyor belt began to feed the shredder.

“So I’m an ‘un-person?”

I mused, somewhat relieved. I didn’t feel dead. Good to know that I wasn’t. "Well I guess I’ll get to find out how the homeless live.”

Jenny sniffed in that very British fashion. Apparently the homeless comment was beneath me. ..then I heard something that sounded like a gunshot. Soon afterward more light came thru the crack between the tubs..

..then it began to move.

“See that big chunky looking thing?”

The StrawBoss yelled over the racket while pointing at my bathtub shell. "Wait till it falls into the shredder then toss her onto it. Maybe she’ll try to get on top of it to avoid the teeth. That’ll be funny.”

“Ok Boss” one of them said.

“Well?” the StrawBoss said " Get to it. Do it right this time. You and you grab her by an ankle each. Hold on tight she’s slippery.

He pointed to two more”you and you each grab a wrist each. Ditto the slippery. Get ready to swing her when I say so.”

Shaniqua STILL hadn’t given up. She WAS slippery from her own blood. She pulled a leg free and kicked one in the throat with her foot and crushed his larynx. He staggered off, desperately trying for one last breath. THAT wasn’t going to happen.

That made three men in her honor guard to the after life. She was still trying for another. She hated odd numbers.

So, do the upgrades come with a stun gun or laser weapon? Or does he hulk out and save Shan like a hero of old?

that would be telling....which I will in the coming episodes..
