#102: Digging for Drivers

Meanwhile…Chad was digging for drivers. He was trying to keep them alive and they weren’t cooperating. Every time he’d shatter a window with a tentacle and reach inside the car to extract one from the icy deathtrap the silly thing would try to avoid his grasp.

It was mildly annoying. They couldn’t get away. There was nowhere for them to go. It just took more time to dig em out. Once out of the car he plopped them down onto the seat of the rescue boat from Flint Island. Marc strapped them in, covered them with a hot blanket and offered a hot drink while Captain drove. The drivers were safe, and warm. It was odd that they were screaming so much.

“When I woke up this morning it was a normal day, for some values of normal. No way would I have guessed that before the day was over I’d turn into a giant Octopus and juggle cars while swimming in an icy river. I love my job!!” Chad said to himself.

Held aloft by a tentacle…Joshua was watching. Oddly enough he felt no pain, he was even warm

Elvira spoke to him in his head “Of course there’s no pain. Your insides are healing as we speak. Those thingies I injected when I bit you speed up the get-well factor by a BUNCH. You’ll be A-Ok soon, in fact you will be better than you were before.

“Yvette will be online by then and she will take care of you. She’ll be your new best friend forever…seriously. Rest and build up your strength. Settle back and watch, we’ll both watch the show. This should be interesting. ”

A hover-boat approached the Kraken and stopped.

“Fragile cargo” the kraken spoke to the boat driver. “Treat him gently”

“I’ll do that.” Captain replied. The tentacle sat Joshua into a seat. Marc helped him get as comfortable as possible considering the circumstances. Damn tree branch kept banging on things..
