Getting into trouble - Part 1 -Raspos and his friends- Fiction

Deep in the garden is where the bush babies lived.  Their leader was sitting in a big tree on a branch.  The area lit up by fireflies, as Jerry and his family put Raspos and Melba in front of the leader.

They were so afraid as the leader looked at them with a very angry expression on his face. 

What do I hear about the two of you?” he asked in a deep voice.“Did you want to scare the fairies of Garden valley tonight by shaking the flowers so they would think it was an earthquake?”

Raspos and Melba not even getting a chance to answer him, the leader continued.  “I give you two choices, either I am going to punish you or I can hand you over to the queen of Mars to be punished?”

“NO” cried Melba, “Please don’t send us to the Queen of Mars, she will be very angry with us. She will chase us away from garden valley if she hears we wanted to prank her fairies.”“Please, we will do anything” they begged.“Fine,” said the leader. “Outside Garden valley, over those mountains,” the leader indicates in the direction of the Misty Mountains.  “The most delicious grapes are growing there.  I want you and your friend to go and get me a basket full tomorrow.”

“Oh,” sighed Raspos.  “That doesn’t seem much like a punishment, more like an adventure,” Melba whispered to Raspos.

“Don’t look so exited” the leader said.  “The apes lives in those mountains, and they are guarding those grapes with their lives. That is why I am sending you, we cannot get close enough to gather some grapes for ourselves without being caught and sent back with empty baskets. “

“We will do it,” said Raspos confidently.

“Here is a basket for each of you, I will send two of the bush babies with.” said the leader.

The bush babies grabbed Raspos and Melba and started their journey swinging through the trees, onwards to the Misty Mountains. 

Misty mountains are so far from Garden valley that they only arrived the following morning.  The bush babies tried to get Raspos and Melba as close as possible to the vineyard.  They dropped them off and told them that they would wait there for them until the get back with the baskets full of grapes. 

Raspos and Melba cautiously started walking into the vineyard, trying not to disturb the apes they haven’t seen yet.  

Once they’ve eaten a few grapes, they started filling the baskets.  Suddenly another loud voice behind them shouted: “Are you stealing grapes from the Misty Mountain apes???”

Both Raspos and Melba knew the feeling of being caught.  Both their hearts sank to their feet. They turned around and said that the bush babies sent them there to gather some grapes.

“Oh” said the big ape; “I will give you two baskets full of grapes if you do me a favour.”

He commanded the other apes to take Raspos and Melba to their cave.  Once there, he told them that a bunch of squirrels gave them nuts, but the could not figure a way to open them.  

Raspos and Melba said they could open it for them if they gave them each two rocks.  They hit the nuts with the rocks until all of the nuts were open.  There were so many nuts, that when they were finished it was already evening again.

The big ape gave thanked them in a friendly manner and kept to his promise by giving them two baskets of grapes.  He even gave them some nuts to take with.

Raspos and Melba started their journey back to the bush babies.  Once they met up with them again, the bush babies picked them up and started swinging through the trees, back to the leader of the bush babies. 

The following morning they finally reached their destination.  They gave the baskets full of grapes and nuts to the leader of the bush babies.  The leader was so impressed that they brought nuts too, that he told them that they could go home. 

Raspos and Melba were so tired; they didn’t sleep for two days. They decided to sleep between some flowers on their way home.

Both Raspos and Melba were fast asleep when all of the sudden they felt the earth shook underneath them.

They looked at each other for help. Both of them so scared that they didn’t know what to do.

“HELP, HELP!!!!” they shouted.

The earthquake stopped. 

 Alice appeared from behind the flowers.

“How did it feel boys,” she asked with a grin on her face.

“You knew,?!” asked Raspos.

“Of course I knew, Jerry told me the minute he heard about your plans.  We decided to rather teach you a lesson, and by the looks of it, I think it worked out very well”

Raspos and Melba apologized to Alice for trying to prank her.  They asked her to stop making fun of them and their friendship.  Alice agreed.

The three friends shook hands and walked back to Garden valley, talking about the two terrible days they had had.

Raspos and Melba never tried to prank Alice again and she, in return, never made fun of their friendship.
