With Gautier's next boss, Jean Pat, everything was much more complicated. The young designer was kept within, demanded constant approvals and even made fun of his own style of clothes. Every day they tried to convince him that the beige color is the most luxurious, and it is strictly forbidden to hire black models.

All this contradicted Gautier's ideas about fashion and he returns to Carden, who sends the prodigal son to the Philippines. There, Jean Paul creates a successful collection for the American market. Returning, he presents his small debut collections, which cause only ridicule of critics. He understood and appreciated only one person - Francis Menu. They met in 1974 and, with the support of their beloved man Gaultier, creates the first full-fledged collection. By the way, he never concealed his relations with men, but answered provocative questions of the press: "Real beauty is in being able to be yourself." People should try to accept themselves as they are! ".

In 1976, Jean Paul decides to establish his own brand and registers his own clothing company. His partners were Francis Menu and a childhood friend Donald Potar, who remained as director of the Fashion House for 25 years.

And then the beginning entrepreneurs had almost no money. Gaultier creates a collection of napkins, tea strays, tablecloths and batteries. He's deliberately annoying the audience! For his subsequent shows, he chooses the most unexpected places - a boxing ring, a museum of old merry-go-rounds, a former prison building and even a tram depot. Well and as models defile dwarfs, old men and fat women. "My models do not entertain spectators, but show clothes that everyone can wear!" said the designer.

Ну а в качестве моделей дефилируют карлики, старики и толстухи. "Мои модели не развлекают зрителей, а показывают одежду, которую может носить каждый!" - говорил дизайнер.

In 1978, Gauthier received a sponsor - the Japanese company Kashiyama and on the recommendation of the Japanese created a collection in the style of the 60's James Bond. Many were shocked by the screaming sexuality of models, and fashion critics no longer simply notice Gauthier, they argue among themselves, trying to cram it into the already existing framework. After the collection of "Hi Tech", which featured buckets of buckets, cans, electronic boards, packaging of cat food, no one doubts the status of Gaultier. From now on he is a "fashion hooligan".

После коллекции "Хай Тек", в которой были представлены помойные ведра, консервные банки, электронные платы, упаковки кошачьего корма, уже никто не сомневается в статусе Готье. Отныне он "хулиган моды".
