Evil Dead + 24 karat Gold Button + Mene

It is time to put my Menē Gold Button II to use. After all, what good is wearable wealth if you aren’t actually wearing it?

This huge gold button is a whopping 16.6 grams of 24 karat gold!

Where could I use it? Which article of clothing was worthy of such an honor?

I am a huge Evil Dead fan. Evil Dead is a movie that came out in the 80’s and still has spin offs going to this day.

One of the spin offs is called Ash vs Evil Dead:

I headed out to the garage ( the only place Mrs. Goldmatters lets me keep Evil Dead paraphernalia) to take this shot:

Then I started to get the creeps as I remember what happened in the root cellar in the movies, and I high tailed it out of there.

It then struck me like a Boom Stick! I knew where my gold button would go. I remembered dressing up as Ash from the series one Halloween (sorry for the low quality photo)

I knew that this would be the perfect article of clothing to host my gold button. I mean, just look at this beautiful shirt:

So I did a little research:

And got to work!

My confidence began to falter at just threading the needle already had me exausted:

But like Ash battling an old cabin full of Deadites, I kept going....

Working the thread through :

Perfect!

As Ash would say:

“Hail to the King Baby!

Ash clearly references gold in this qoute as well...

“Don't touch that please, your primitive intellect wouldn't understand alloys and compositions and things with... molecular structures.”

One final tidbit: Buttons, have been used for thousands of years for their intrinsic value.... just like gold!
