Last year the Government of British Columbia opened up the education program so everybody that went through the foster system can have free university.
If you remember last year I wrote an article about how I dealt with some kids from the system that aged out of it... they turn 18 and everything ends for them.
Now that’s changing. They can get free education... I’m hoping they get some living support as well.
What I love about the article... aside from the record number of young people that are now using the education system... 7x more people... is the fact the woman MLA that expanded the program is herself... an ex foster child
She went through the system... ran and was elected.... and is now fixing it for others.
