Market Friday. Old Butter Factory Treasures.

Old Butter Factory Treasures.

This is my entry for this week's Market Friday challenge organized by @dswigle.

I have previously posted about the markets operating within the Old Butter Factory in Doepel Street, Bellingen in New South Wales, Australia, but this time I will be showcasing the old.......very old machinery used back when the Butter Factory was operational.

If you'd like to view these other blogs, I have included the links at the bottom of this post.

The Old butter factory has been transformed into a unique shopping village which contains a cafe, a variety of shops which include Cargo Lane, Mac's Opals, a Massage Boutique, The Woodcraft Gallery, the Leather Place and the Nexus Gallery which promotes the arts and is the venue for regular exhibitions.

The location of the Old Butter factory is also an ideal setting for weddings and other similar functions. It has been a regional landmark since the early 1900s, and it has become a vibrant retail community. The Old Butter Factory Café is one of the largest cafés in the area and its location makes it a popular place to relax over snacks or a meal especially as is open for 7 days a week. They feature daily specials and it also has a full liquor license. The expansive views taking in the Bellingen golf course add to the friendly country vibe.

Here is a photo of an old milk can. Originally, the site of the Old Butter Factory was the home of many important and historical creations including market leading businesses and of course the production of dairy produce.

I'd love to be able to tell you more about the machinery in the images below but I'd only be guessing. I like the fact that these antique items have been made available to view because it is a vital part of Bellingen's history and people interested in old machinery will no doubt be more familiar with how they once worked.

You have to admire the formation of rust on this large container especially as it makes an artistic contrast to the blue/green paint as it peels off in various places.

This is Cargo Lane (a beautiful retail shop) which is situated on the exact site of the former Butter Factory.

They have retained part of the machinery that was once used in the factory as a feature item.

This silver milk can has received special attention after being placed on top of a concrete base and surrounded by circular paving stones. Don't you just love the adornment of the lichen and plants?

And what do you think about this old rustic letter box? She certainly is unique isn't she?

Two hungry Blue Faced Honey Eaters weren't interested in what was on offer inside the cafe as they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying whatever had been placed in their feed bowl.

The Old Butter factory is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

When natural elements take over, they create new things out of old and it's beautiful to see how it happens. What a smart and cool idea the mailbox is.

Well said @leeart. I really enjoy seeing how old things can be artistically re-cycled. Many thanks for your kind visit.

Very interesting i love all that old machinery it was huge and heavy but it did the job and i love the way they have made use of that milkcan as a letter box pretty cool idea and it would be a lovely place for weddings :)

It's a lovely atmosphere, walking around some of these old factories that have had a history and have been revitalized by a few locals of some of these country towns and cities, converting them into either markets or museums for visitors and tourists to explore. Great to see.

Looking back at the past i always find an enjoyment good on them for bringing this to the public it makes great entertainment :)

You just can't beat reusing or repurposing items, especially when they are exceptionally cool like the pieces that you have! I meant to say that I am totally in love with that mailbox! They really hit a homerun with that!

I do love the old butter Factory and old factories in general. They seem to offer the generous spaces that make buildings look more gracious and they offer angles that make them much more interesting. Throw in the fact that they have pieces of Machinery that for the life of me I have no idea what they're for, but I love them anyway and you have yourself a winner. I could read a post from the butter Factory every single week and never get tired of it. It's your angle that you use, the perspective you take your pictures at the end your fine tune writing that always makes your post stand out. Thank you so much for being a part of Market Friday and I am sorry for always being so late getting back on yours.

#MarketFriday loves you!
