Tanaman cabai membeli tanah yang gembur dan kaya akan bahan organik.Bakar dan babat habis panen padi sawah di lahan yang akan ditanam cabai. Cangkul tanah sawah atau gunakan bajak agar tanah sawah menjadi gembur setelah habis terbakar dan menjadi abu Buat bendengan dan kemudian lakukan pemupukan dasar.
Proses selanjutnya yaitu pembedengan, ini adalah proses dimana dapat dilakukan air mudah dalam mengairi melalui parit dan juga akan memudahkan udara masuk dan keluar serta meresap di dalam lahan pengolahan cabai tersebut.
Namun jika tidak dialirkan dengan baik maka akan terjadi genangan yang akan mebuat tumbuhan membusuk. lebar bendengan pada lahan tanaman cabe saya 100 cm. Jarak antara satu ebndengan ke yang lain adalah 80 cm.
