Clicked #106: Langza Village !!!
I Hope you guys are having a wonderful day.
Today, I am creating a post about a tribal village with eSteem after five days. The name of the village that I am gonna post about is Langza (Langja).
It is a small and beautiful village located in Spiti with the total of 32 families residing in this village with the total population of 140 with the elevation of 4400 meters above the sea level.
The Village is divided into two sections Langza Yongma (means lower Langza) and Langza Gongma (means upper Langza). Production of vessels of all shapes, shawls, carpets are common in this village. Its really difficult to survive in this village during winters as it remains disconnected from rest of the world and temperature drops to -20 degrees during winters. But in summers the snow fields turn into beautiful green fields.
As we approach this village the one thing that stands out is the huge golden statue of Lord Buddha. There's an ancient temple known as 'Lang' over there which is believed to be 1000 years old.
Reaching this high altitude village is not an easy task, it can take upto 14 hours crossing high altitude roads in poor conditions starting from Manali and crossing Rohtang and Kumzum pass but in winters road from Manali side is closed. So one has to access this village via Shimla and Kinnaur which takes upto two days to reach this village from this side. The best time to visit this village is between July to September. During this period of the year the weather is pleasant during day time but gets colder during nights.
There's not much to do in this village. It is a small village to spend quality time with nature and talk with the locals and enjoy the views of the barren mountains.
You can check my post on Weku and Whaleshares.
Thank You

That looks like a very remote village! When you go to these places, are you seen as a tourist or as a local? The experience is quite difference I'm sure depending on how you are viewed. I'd love to visit some of these rural villages, but I would not want to be seen as a tourist. Any tips?
The people over there are so kind
And we can be easily spotted they are always ready to give stay in their houses

How did you feel being so high in the mountains where the air is thin? Did you get altitude sickness?
Yes yes infact i didnt get mountain sickness, one of my friend got it and she suffered from severe headache but after medicine and excess of water she was fine
Very beautiful pictures! I especially liked those that are removed from the height and offer a view of the valley below.
