eSteem Now Has A New Reward Points Feature!
@good-karma recently announced a really cool new update for eSteem where you can get reward points for interacting with and using the eSteem Surfer or the eSteem Mobile app.
The update is still very new and the reward points as of right now, are unfortunately not redeemable. But as far as I know, this wouldn't be a problem for very long and as @good-karma puts it,
They might be used to promote your posts, reward other users or exchange to Steem soon.
This is an awesome news for people like @janton, @melinda010100, @erikah, @trincowski, myself, and hundreds of others who already use eSteem as a default when posting an article or writing a comment.
Earlier, when you posted an article through eSteem, you could most probably get an upvote from the @esteemapp account but soon you may be able to redeem your points for some even more additional rewards!
@partiko offers the same services and it had the idea of redeemable points sooner than @esteemapp, but I think I'd still easily prefer eSteem over it. The biggest reason why is that watermark partiko leaves after every comment that a user leaves.
I don't know about other people's preference, but I personally don't like to have a "Posted using Partiko Android" after every comment that I make or every reply I give to someone else.
That's just not me, and I really hope eSteem doesn't start doing that too, although I might be a little more tolerant to it if they actually did indeed start doing it.
The Reward Scheme
Each individual action done on eSteem earns you a certain amount of reward points according to the type of action that is done. Not just that, you also get some newbie points if you are a new eSteem user so to give you a head start.
The reward scheme may or may not change in the future, but as of right now, the following are the points along with the actions they are associated with:

| Voting | 0.3 |
| Resteeming | 1 |
| Checking in on the app | 0.25 |
| First-time login | 100 |
| Staying active on the app | 10 |
Even though we don't yet know what the reward points may be redeemable for, it is still advised to try to collect as many as possible so you can enjoy the benefits when their actual use is announced later on.
Awesome features like this one are sure to bring in more and more new users for eSteem as it's a total win-win situation. I'm definitely looking forward for the full-release of this feature.
