Part II: What's Up With School, Anyway? Insight into the game--What it would be like to be a FREE child--The Joys of Unlocking the Genius Within!
Greetings Steemians!!!
I am really passionate about children. I believe that if we are to make great change in the world, we must first address our own thoughts, ideas and beliefs to find new perspective, so we can hold space for empowered change for the children.
This is the second part of my series about school. (Part I). For years I've been rethinking my relationship with children and have gained some insight on what it could be like to be a free child. Education plays a huge role in all of life so our present school system is of great concern to me, as I feel it is holding our children back as it has been doing for generations. Regardless of good intentions and wanting to be sure children are on the "right path", there are things to really consider if we want to raise healthy, conscious and empowered children. I'd like to share with you "normal" aspects of school life that I perceive to be in contradiction to a free and inspired existence.

It is a whole new world!!! Thank goodness we can give our children a chance at freedom. Everything can change to be what we want it to be. We just need to dedicate our focus to it and take action. Yep, every word of this is spot on. If you haven't you should read John Taylor Gatto. He was twice NY teacher of the year. He wrote a book called The Underground History of American Education. He outlines how school is not broken, it's just not really designed to educate children, but create compliant workers and consumers.
Thanks for adding your comment here. I know of and have met John Taylor Gatto. He is quite the inspiration, especially coming from his teacher perspective. I'm really grateful to have had the experiences in my reality that continue to reshape my perspective. My greatest inspiration comes from my own experience with raising children and my relationship with @quinneaker who is a grown unschooler, thinks outside the box on everything, has solutions for every question I have ever heard asked, and is sharing his infinite perspective with others. His vision of a free life and honoring the divinity of children is in full swing at the @gardenofeden. He has created the living example that can truly change the world through awareness--it's not just concepts and ideas in books. I'm grateful for your participation in this post.
