One Yeti's Perspective #35 : A Vegan Yeti?!

THIS IS A VIDEO^^^^

Disclaimer: This is my opinion about my life. I love you and wish not to debate right or wrong.

I was asked by a fellow Steemian to talk a bit more about my journey eating a vegan diet.

It is not a diet, but a lifestyle. I began eating meat free 6 1/2 years ago. Since last Easter I have been 100% vegan.

I am not into labels, this is just an eating style. I do wear leather and eat honey. Maybe I am more of a Yetivore, and eat what I want🙃

For me, I can vividly remember my life when I ate alot of meat and dairy, and now I see what it is like to not. I feel blessed that I have perspective from multiple angles.

Maybe you could give it a try! 3 weeks, maybe a month without meat or dairy! Let me know if you are ever going to try it. I would love to hear about it and encourage you to gain a different experience. Be well! 🙃

Love it!!!!! :)

Thank you! I am glad you stopped by!

Always happy to see new vegans here :) Being vegan is all about life style as you said. Looking forward to follow you on your journey :)

Hey! Thank you! It is a journey! Be well!

It is not a diet, but a lifestyle

I learned a long time ago anytime some on goes on a DIET the very word sets you up for failure. But when you change the way you live. it becomes a new lifestyle and you tend to stick to it. We are on our way. We are not totally vegan but close. We cut a few things out over time to give ourselves time to adjust. So far it has been a good experience. We feel better, have more energy and have been able to loss weight. Not bad for a beginning!

Sounds like you are having a wonderful experience!

The word diet is an oxymoron. Our brains are still wired for feast and famine. It literally cannot work. 🙃

I'm a meat eater, but much less so than when I was younger. What was the most difficult change for you when you decided to live the vegan lifestyle? How hard is it for you to get back on track on those occasions when you "break the fast"?

The most difficult was that I craved buffalo wild wings boneless wings with spicy garlic sauce. After about 6 months I was just wanting the sauce so we bought a bottle and put it on ither things...win.Cheese is always a battle. When you eat it it literally makes us addicted. So I try to steer clear if it. I hate feeling owned by something. I am also lime 3-4 weeks without coffee or caffeine.

I am never "off track". I intermittent fast. So eveeyday I eat between 12 noon and 8 pm. So I fast for 16 hours giving my body a real chance to utilize what I have eaten the day before. The average person has 12-15 meals in their bowels and the body doean't work like it should. So when I break my fast it is amazing! I love to start with fruit!🙃

Vegetables is what meat eats. 😉

Great explanation of your diet and the benefits it has given you. I agree 100 percent what we put in our bodies affects every aspect of our lives. While I am not a vegan I respect that you are and think your story is amazing. My family has been eating Biblically Clean foods for a year now and it has totally changed our health and the way we look at what we put into our bodies. Great post!!!

Yes! Eating responsibly is something that seems to elude the modern world. Well done farmer!

We are beef farmers, I can't like this too much lol 😉 We do one day a week without meat. Glad that way works for you! Feeling good and healthy is what makes the change. Good job!

Haha well played. It really is for each to determine. My idea is responsibility. Where and how things are done, and how it effects us.

I'm stoked this is working well for you! In my world, it's all about results that make you feel better, so sounds like your results are working well. I do intermittent fasting as well and I think in all, what I've learned is just not to be controlled by my food. Such an emotional component to it that can over take you. I will admit that I've yet to kick the coffee habit. I think I might be in love, haha.

Well you will know for sure when you pour a cup of coffee and simply think "hello beautiful" haha

Yeah man, I really don't like the idea of being controlled by food. Have you ever noticed that we are programmed....get up, hhmmm time for breakfast the most important meal of the day. ..noon, yep gotta eat lunch....oohh evening I need a nice dinner. None of this is because of actual hunger, mostly just habit.

Absolutely man. I've really taken the approach of true awareness of if I'm truly hungry. And if I'm not, I don't eat. You have to re-program your mind that it is ok to do that! Crazy!
