Fear, Anxiety & Discomfort Training

Everyone feels fear, anxiety & discomfort, however, people feel it more than compared to 100 years ago.

Why do people feel more fear, anxiety & discomfort compared to back then and how can we learn & train to deal with these feelings instead of fleeing from them?

These are good and solid questions which I will gladly answer for you my dear savages.

The Root of the Problem

Before we can fix a problem we need to know the root or the source of the problem and kill it with fire. If we can not kill it with fire we will trim the root so it doesn't get too long, we do this by air-cutting.

That means to drill holes into the pot and when the roots see the light they die off because they need darkness to grow.

In other words: We can reduce anxiety, fear and discomfort by facing it, however, that is part of the next section.

So why is everyone so overly anxious, afraid and uncomfortable? The reason is very simple: Life in the western world is too easy.

We don't have to hunt our food, we receive welfare from the state, we have permanent access to warm water, we have the internet to communicate with each other and we spend a lot of time in that virtual world (myself included).

Besides that, we also have cars to get us anywhere, and men are told to stop being so violent, to not be aggressive and to not be dominant. In other words, we have become too soft and we don't dare anymore because we will be shamed for that (fuck that).

Arminius, an old German chieftain that defeated and prevented the Roman empire from crossing the Rhein at Teutoburg forest would laugh about our cowardice and he would simply kill us because we are a burden.

How to Deal With Fear, Anxiety & Discomfort

Dealing with fear, anxiety and discomfort is not easy. Only heroes can face death with a smile on their face.

Everyone has different levels of courage. For some it might be to show their face online, for others it would be to fight in the ring, for others it requires courage to fight to the death.

We all start somewhere, where you are doesn't matter, what matters is that you start dealing with it SLOWLY.

If you have trouble showing your face on the Internet then you will not be able to fight a man for example.

So here is how you can start facing fear, anxiety & discomfort on purpose:
1. Spend time in discomfort & endure alone, that means to take cold showers, to show your face online, to use your real name online, or to do whatever feels uncomfortable.

2. Spend time in discomfort with other people. That means that you do whatever feels uncomfortable or scary with other people. For example competing, doing a public speech, lifting weights in the gym, taking part in a martial arts course and more.

3. Practice confrontation by disagreeing with people, later you will be able to confront & fight people if they seriously threaten and attack you. Your fight or flight instinct will be trained to prefer fighting. You will be scared but that is a natural response. Fighting is dangerous and your body sharpens your senses by filling your blood with adrenaline. This requires a lot of courage but if you succeed you will earn respect, booty, riches & land.

4. Breath from the stomach aka fill up your belly with air, say mantras, do positive affirmations (and I don't mean this faggot shit, I mean stuff that really gets you pumped up ready to kill someone).

Remember: What matters is that you start and progress slowly. You also have to repeat these exercises on a regular basis otherwise the roots will never stop growing.

I personally record myself outside once per week and then show that online, I also take cold showers and lift weights in the gym.

Confrontation has become natural to me, I don't take any shit from women, men or children, however, even that needs to be done when it is required because otherwise I will revert to cowardice and fleeing.

I gave up the fight for a few years, and just let life just happen, but now I am beginning to find the fight for life again. My first step has been accepting that my goals are as worthy as anyone else's and going for them. I'm just beginning, but I'm winning the battle in my head at the very least at the moment and will carry on going on foward, rather than being stuck.

Good comment Helen.

I have watched many confrontations of people I admire, and aspire to handle my own similarly. But yeah, there are plenty of times where I am afraid to confront a particular issue, especially if it involves friends and family.

You are right about just throwing yourself out there. I remember being afraid to speak for teaching classes or giving talks and while the fear isn't gone, just going through several of them have made it much more comfortable. Just have to continue too face what I'm still afraid of.

Cheers!

Very interesting piece.

This is true. I did martial arts for ten years. In the beginning, I was so afraid to hit my opponents. It was the most awkward experience. Eventually, if you practice enough, it becomes nothing. It's not even personal anymore. It just is what you gotta do. In training, it is to improve your skills and their skills. In real life, it's just how you survive.

I'd like to add another factor if you don't mind...

I went through a horrible spell of anxiety some years ago. It turned out to be connected to my poor, vegan/vegetarian diet which was too high in carbohydrates. I actually had to take beta-blockers just to go to a meeting. Terrible times. Anyway, after resuming a proper clean low-carb diet with lots of great meat, my anxiety disappeared. It was totally gone. No more need for tablets, no more worrying about what others were thinking or saying. Freedom.

I will never understand why parents send their daughters to martial arts classes. Women have no chance in combat unless they use weapons. Besides that they become absolute bitches because they are used to fight men, it just requires some common sense to come to that conclusion.

People never stop surprising me with their endless stupidity.

And regarding your Diet -> Women need testosterone as well.

My parents didn't send me. I joined initially, in my 20s, for self defense after an unfortunate experience. BTW they teach you how to use weapons in some martial arts schools. Men are physically stronger than women. But some men don't have the balls to fight.

Absolute bitches? I think women who do any type of combat fall across a spectrum of bitchiness. Some are total pussycats, others, not so much ;)

Sounds logical.

Eh, women in MMA can probably kick some ass, but I get the point. BTW, do beta blockers actually work?

Instructions unclear, I punched many guys throughout my life and won some of those fights (not all hehe) and never got any land.

Dammit!

In all honesty though, it is true, those who face death on a daily basis learn to minimize fear... people in the Western World fear even the notion of talking about death.

100%

OH HELL YEAH MA MAN!!!!

Nearly everything can be achieved if you are willing to get out of your comfort zone. But yeah, like you said, it's scary as fudge!! So, the only solution is to JUST DO IT! It sounds so simple doesn't it, but that is what keeps us moving forward :) It's what we have to do!

Awesome post brother! Keep it up!

I also watch your videos and they are very helpful!

Winny out...for now ;)

Thank you Myndnow.

Is it possible that you are from Germany?

Noice, I'm also living in Germany at the moment :) In Berlin. Have you ever been there? Maybe we can collaborate? :)

I live in Cologne, on the other side of Germany and I have checked the way to Berlin. It would take 8 hours.

So no collaboration offline possible.

Collaboration online, however, is a different thing but I don't even know you.

I suggest you join my server and we talk there.

you are as always completely right, excellent advice that many must observe, and most importantly, do it regularly ... Confrontation with people is extremely important, because in our world and in our time you must be able to stand up for yourself and stand up for your opinion, it's extremely important, otherwise you will have to take someone else's point of view and act as someone else wants to ...
and as always you have a chic and brutal art, I like

As always, a good insightful comment.
