Grilling with @broncofan99: My Grill!!!

I have been putting together a variety of videos and content to post as part of my grilling series over the past few weeks. If you have yet to see any of the posts in this series, I encourage you to check out the Ribsteak post and the Wood Wizard post. Before going any further with more grilling posts I thought I should first introduce you to where most of this magic will be happening.

There is a bit of a story to my purchase of this BBQ. I have been a big griller for a long time and my BBQ’s get a lot of use. I even cook through the winter months. With all that use I was going through BBQ’s fairly quickly. I had always purchased mid-tier BBQ’s for around $300. This meant that I was dealing with lower quality grills and the parts just didn’t last long.

A few years ago I decided that I was done buying cheaper BBQ’s and with the amount of grilling I do, it was time that I invest in a top tier grill. This was a difficult decision for me because even though it was an investment that we would benefit from, it is hard to come to terms with spending that much money on any item. I did some research and narrowed down my selection between a Broil King and a Napoleon. I preferred the Napoleon because I liked the stainless steel design and the fact that they were made in Canada. Unfortunately, the Napoleon brand was also quite a bit more expensive.

I sat in the store for over an hour looking at these BBQ’s, even after having researched them online prior to going in. It took forever for me to both decide and them come to terms with the cost. In the end, I went with the Baron model from Broil King. The BBQ had everything I was looking for. A large cooking surface with thick grill grates, a side burner and a rotisserie. This grill even included some extra features such as the flavour saver trays that helped prevent flare-ups and the grill grates were reversible. This meant that I could flip them the opposite way for cooking different things like chicken. The other side was a grooved grill that helps keep the juices in the meat.

In total the BBQ cost me over $1200 plus I spent $100 on a customized cover. I can honestly say that even though I was stressed out about this purchase, it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have never had a BBQ that worked so well and cooked food is such a great way. I take care of this thing like it is my baby and work hard to keep it clean and well looked after. It has been three years since I bought the BBQ and I can’t imagine my grilling experience with anything else. No regrets at all.
