World-drops

Outsides looking in,
the looking-glass lens.

Off-lidded lumens
star-crinkled by slendrous spins.

To stare into the molten core
uproarious, serene.
A galaxy of viewpoint-toroids
sat beneath the silken stream.

Of mystery, of magic eyes
whose sheen belays benev'lent sighs:
to rest beneath the bowered tome
of Kosmos, roamèd soul.

Reprise of fate and fantasy,
reflections of what cannot be—
elation-knotted tombs of lovers' hands
demanding symphonies be scoured.

From skimming-pool alive,
refracting lyrics writ by lies
yet what a fiction filled with bliss
subsumed by outsides looking in.

The magnificence of the universe! The inmensity of its span! How insignificant we are in the great scheme of things.
Although when little, some of us challenged the "molten core" and looked at it stright in the eye, or so we thought, never mind we spent the rest of the day seeing funny dots everywhere.

Your poem reminds me of so many sci-fi approaches to the veracity of our existence. So much has been hypothesized about who we are, who is charge and how much do we control our destiny.
The possible explanations are way out of our capacity to fathom the complexity of the universe. We'd rather settle for something more tangible, more parrochial, closer to home.
Balads and romances about the motivation of our existence and the purpose of our lives have given us literature and phylosophy and history and so many other disciplines.
Of them all, i settle for literature: Fictions of our reality, which is a fiction.

Although when little, some of us challenged the "molten core" and looked at it straight in the eye, or so we thought, never mind we spent the rest of the day seeing funny dots everywhere.

Lol! That is hilarious.

Yeah, that's true. Paradoxically, it's also interesting how looking expansively into the vastness of the universe can become an obsession in its own right. However, there's always the contrasting comfort of simplicity and the right-now-ness of Earth available to soothe our existential woes—at least, assuming the basic needs of our physical existence are adequately provided. If not, it can feel better to escape to the stars with our minds and spirits!

I must confess that I read this poem several times over before being able to make some sense out of it. The sheer rhythm of the lines make it melodious to read and re-read.

As I read it dawned on me the place of man in the humongous Cosmos. We're so minute, yet we take ourselves so seriously, almost gallivanting in childish arrogance that we are the masters of the universe. But when you consider the cells of your body and trace these to your whole body, then to your family, town, country, earth, our own galaxy, you'll suddenly realise that we are nothing but the microcosm of the macrocosm. Thank you for igniting deeper thoughts in my mind @d-pend.

Hey there @sungbojus, I appreciate the comment and I'm glad the piece was so expansive for you! About the melody present in this piece, it really came through in the consciousness like a song moreso than a poem. Many times when I'm writing it's actually a sound vibration that I'm hearing and struggling to transcribe, which ends up with a quite unusual word or even a neologism if that is what is required to fulfill the proper melody and rhythm. Other times, writing is a bit more mundane, focused on the semantic aspect of what the piece is expressing. Anyway, thought I'd share that. It was very skewed towards feeling like song this time.

Thank you for being here for me, so I can be here for you.
Enjoy your day and stay creative!
Botty loves you. <3

Thank you indeed Botty!

@Dpend sir!
In the world of mirror,
Dwelting in darkness,
Improve you wortless,
Human reflect as an error.
Depend on your labour,
Left causes and excuses,
Connect the right wire fuses,
Life seems little bitter...

The birth and death, life and love everything is in this world exists so long we exists, as a little part of Kosmos and Universe we still believe to think that we are a centre of it but not we are not and everything comes and goes, what we can witness is just a second for universe. You created such beautiful poem as always, was nice to listen in your own presentation, thank you for that, was nice to hear your voice, Cheers, @Stef1

the feeling that we get when a poem is finished, and not one word must you give or take from it. complete thought.
