Back with another 5 Things Wednesday!
Gaming has come a long way from what it used to be. In the past, we would get excited at the thought of a blue hedgehog spinning around from side to side in the most flat and 2D way you can imagine. And that was the extent of how much we knew about our hero. No lines. No dialogue. Just gameplay.
Today's games you have so much storyline that the opening sequences usually take a good 20- 30 minutes and a lot of the progression of the that story is dependent on the development of the characters.
And it is a great character(besides the gameplay) that makes a game memorable. Kratos, The Big Boss, Solid Snake, Cloud, Nathan Drake, Ellie&Joel, Lara Croft, are just a few of the well developed characters that gaming has given us.
But it doesn't always work out that way. Just like how the occasional highly anticipated summer blockbuster movie turns out to be a flop, sometimes game characters fail to inspire or impress us and end up being just... damn right annoying.
