Town - my dream!

Greetings, my friends! Let me introduce you to my next miniature on a sheet of A5 paper.

You may have seen my previous thumbnails. I draw miniatures as I see them in the Holy Scriptures, and earlier, I published the first three chapters from the book of Genesis.

I am not an artist, I like to draw, but I have no training. There are considerable difficulties with this. I do not know how to draw people, it is very hard for me. I draw miniatures in one run, there is no sketch and there is no pencil, only a ballpoint pen. It makes me concentrate on work as much as possible, and I hope that this will develop a drawing technique, which, to my regret, I don’t have.

The further I go into the word of God, the more characters become. In some scenes there will be a lot of people and I decided to arrange a training session for myself.

To live near the sea, in a city on a hill, this is my little dream that I cannot afford yet, but I can draw it, I thought, and set to work. The beginning of the last century, presumably the Mediterranean, or the Adriatic, I do not know. Fairground in the upper part of the city, such is the legend of the plan.

I also wanted to fill the list with characters as much as possible, but in moderation. It should look like a picture, not a shapeless mass.

Not only people, nor understanding of perspective, these were the main tasks of the drawing.

I began by drawing the outline of the street. I wanted to understand the perspective, how the length of the street will affect the height of the characters. For this, I decided to use lampposts, they became a marker for me.

The first character was a donkey who drags a cart with hay. He identified the extreme point of the street. I wanted to show that further a sharp descent begins from the hill.

The second object was a motorcyclist. I couldn’t draw motorcyclists and I decided to fix it. The beginning of the last century and a motorcycle, it is quite compatible. Motorcycles with carriages appeared at the end of the 19th century.

Then, I started to paint the fair. People from the villages came to the city in order to sell their products.

The cart in the lower left corner is the closest and largest object in this drawing, I needed it for the perspective and on it I indicated the author of the drawing, myself.

In the foreground a boy appeared who took away the candy from the crying girl, the girl who scattered apples from the basket, the girl with the ball and the dog that had stolen the sausage.

The girl with the umbrella, she has already made purchases and goes home. There is no rain, but anything can happen when you live near the sea, it’s better to have an umbrella with you.

This is a fair and there should be an entertainment program here, how to do without a balloon ride?
I showed the upper tier of houses, I wanted to add volume to the city.

If there are roofs and chimneys, then there must be someone who cleans these pipes.

A curious citizen in the background used the ladder for a better view of what was happening on the street.

The atmosphere of the holiday creates a harlequin on high stilts. Fun is in full swing. A law enforcement officer is near the house, he keeps a watchful eye on the situation and keeps everything under control.

Sellers and buyers, an old pastor who talks to a young mother, a merchant who sits down on a bench and has a rest in an alley, these are the characters of the fair itself.

As I said, this city near the sea, you need a harbor and ships, I drew. In the right part, I drew the continuation of the city to the lighthouse. On the left is a hill and a waterfall.

There are a lot of gulls by the sea, I decided that they must be here.

Last of all, I drew a volcano on the opposite side of the harbor, or on a nearby island.

I admire people who live near a volcano and enjoy their life. They know that danger is near, but today, this is the most important thing for them in the world, one excellent day, it is a lifetime.

So on a small sheet of paper, using a simple ballpoint pen with blue paste, a small town appeared - my Dream!
