Regarding Witness votes and Public Statement Commitment
Dear witness and steemians who have set me as a proxy concerning witness votes:
After reading @timcliff post , @therealwolf post , @liberosist post , @blockbrothers post , @lukestokes post and many more that I am sure will come, finding that this is a very important step that would release the doubts and uncertainties of steemians, I have taken the decision to review all my Witness Votes in order not only for verifying the performance and abilities but also to check if the Public Commitment Statement specifying the "no-implementation, support, or condone of any proposed hard fork that effects the balances, keys, or security of any accounts on the current chain."...
So, in a few days I will check, if there is some witness not clearly stating the previous statement, I am sorry, but I will reject my vote.

@toofasteddie you are the man of the hour! As much as i have been annoyed by Steemits... lassitude to put it lightly, and then the powering down, which looked like an exit. But eventually this shady pull request felt even more alarming, and imo is a major threat to steem as such.
Reading the linked posts was a bit reassuring but hey! Is Steemit's account the only one that merits protection? Certainly every single account should be guaranteed that this doesn't happen to them, not only steemits'! And your call finally refelcts that.
Thanks for that important initiative. Being so negligent on steemit governance myself, i decided to make you my proxy. Hope you don't mind....

I generally try to avoid a lot of the politics of the platform but I will say, I have some serious concerns with statements which indicate they wont fork the blockchain to eliminate one or more users if certain action(s) doesn't take place.
That not only has shades of extortion, it begs the question if that is the start of a slippery slope where the platform gets purged by the top 20 at will.
There are problems and issues that need to be addressed but negotiation through a gun to someone's head is not negotiation.

as often been said about everyone else on this platform, it is their stake to with as they wish. Best to respect that fact while engaging Steemit Inc. The fact that Ned has been appearing in the community indicates he has got the message, he needs to communicate and work with the community. Holding a gun to anyone's head doesn't make them communicate or cooperate better in the long run.
Regarding the latest situation with Steemit, ned and the power downs and also the surge in price that Steem recorded recently I have an intuition that the price of Steem is manipulated a few weeks/months before the dump. I might be wrong though...
i have the same feeling, just because is the only thing that makes sense.. the other is that people in charge is just retarded .. that could make sense as well.. and in the other side.. well steem went -100% like most of the cryptos .. so is just follwing the market trend
It has been following the trend but if you compare it with others like XRP, ETH, XLM, LTC you will notice that it was way down and now for a few days it has a continuous growth that it's been recorded pretty much on the same time frame with the start of the steemit account power down.
Agree 100%, it is like putting buying orders in order to avoid the fall due to the power down
