Presidente de Paraguay denuncia "abusos de poder" en Venezuela y Nicaragua
Mario Abdo Benítez, del partido Colorado, arremetió contra "los abusos de poder" en Venezuela y Nicaragua, en su discurso de investidura este miércoles como nuevo presidente de Paraguay.
"Expresamos nuestra solidaridad con los pueblos de Venezuela y Nicaragua frente a los abusos del poder. Nuestras voces libertarias no callarán. Paraguay no va a mantenerse indiferente ante el sufrimiento de estos pueblos hermanos", manifestó Abdo Benítez.
"Es hora de dejar a un lado la hipocresía y levantar la voz ante las injusticias", remarcó.
A la ceremonia de toma de mando presidencial asistieron los presidentes Mauricio Macri, de Argentina; Michel Temer, de Brasil; Tabaré Vázquez, de Uruguay; Evo Morales, de Bolivia; Iván Duque, de Colombia; Jimmy Morales, de Guatemala; y Tsia Ing Wen de Taiwán.
"Si no hay fronteras para la integración tampoco debe haber fronteras para ser solidarios con los pueblos que sufren violaciones graves y sistemáticas a sus derechos humanos", reiteró el nuevo gobernante, de 46 años.
En agosto de 2017, el Mercosur decidió de forma unánime suspender a Venezuela del bloque que integran Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay y Uruguay.
