Those that keep their beasts in line

in #demons5 years ago

Everyone says you have to let go. Even said it myself. But did we ever stop to consider what would happen if we really let go? What if we told the jailer of a the max security prison of our minds to let go. To release control…

The truth is you don’t want that to happen. There are some terrible beasts dwelling within me, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they lived in you as well. It has taken me forever to learn how to deal with these minions of evil, and now you tell me to let go?

Sure, ok. Hey mister murderer! Hey mister pyroman! Hey mister cannibal! They said you’re all free to go! They said you can all just “be”!

Naa… Think twice what you tell people. You’ll find many with a grim look on their faces. Don’t tell them to let go, they might just be doing their best to protect you from all the demons inside that want to break free.

In fact, you might want begin thanking even some of the biggest assholes you’ve met. They probably had a bigger army of sinisters living inside them and thanks to their efforts to control them you only saw a little squad.

I propose a moment of silence to think on all those who try their best to keep their beasties in line.

To keep the demons at bay is no easy task. You can’t just kill them, for they are part of you and that would mean damaging yourself. But you can’t give them too much power either. To have a proper relationship with them you have to feed them and take them out for a walk every now and then.

They are willing to behave like pets, provided you treat them right. Sometimes they need medicines too. Alcohol is one of their favorites and cocaine is a real treat!

When they begin to demand more than you have agreed to give them its time you pull around some weight and authority.

Deprive them of everything.

Chant the music of heavens.

Bring in the Sacred Plant Medicines.

Suck them back into the Void.

Wait till their ears and tails are flimsy and decayed, then tell them its ok, that you love them.

This reminds me a lot about a philosophical discussion about 'freedom', and a question as to what 'freedom' really. As soon as humans began to live within groups we began to lose some of our freedoms, or individual freedoms at least. We agree to rules which prohibit certain actions for the betterment of the group, and I think a lot of us would argue that is, in fact, a good thing. Do we really want to let go if 'letting go' means damaging the people around us?

Exactly, there is a moment to let go and a moment to restraint. You're free to mess up until you learn the timing lol

A time of birth and a time to die. What we do between these two sureties is up to each of us. Letting go was never an answer and your post here is surely something to think about my friend.
Blessings!
