Open Challenge To Anyone with 1,000 SP

in #delegation7 years ago (edited)

I am sure out of the 10,000 plus members who have 1,000Sp maybe 1% of those members will step up and accept this challenge. This is a practice that I have been doing since I started steemit and it has made a huge difference for many users. I did it early when @blocktrades and @minnowsupport was offering rented SP for a set price which I was able to purchase and send to any account. Sadly all of that delegating that was rent-able has been sucked up by the vote sellers so they themselves can make money and sell votes. Or delegated power is auctioned off to the highest bidder. That stopped me cold in my tracks until steemworld.org made it so easy to delegate it seemed selfish not to do so. There are no downloads and it takes less than 15 to 20 seconds to delegate

So what I was left with is having to use our own SP to help other users. Lot's of people will try to use the 7 days it takes to get back that SP to deter users from loaning their SP to others but there is a very simple work-a-round for that issue. It was actually figured out by my official 1st member that I found producing awesome content which I surprise delegated power to. @rubencress is that user I am talking about. He simply said once he was able to produce his own slider with his own SP he would simply delegate me the same SP I had sent him in order to give him his slider. Perfect, took him 15 minutes or so to figure out how to return my SP without it causing me to lose my SP for 7 days. We also realized that this 100% can be used to DOUBLE VOTE WITH THAT EXACT SAME SP, the flaw in the simplicity

I doubt this post will be read by many scammers but I hope STINC, @ned and top witnesses will read it and fix that issue of being able to DOUBLE VOTE WITH THE SAME SP

I also delegated 500 SP to my wife who just started posting @imaginedragon, I hope this helps her like steemit more by being able to interact with more users being new and up vote more users as well on her journey into the world of steemit

The challenge I am putting out to people is to find one user, they don't have to be brand new like my wife. Find someone who is bringing great content to steemit or is very active in replies and community. Find a Vet to support as many of our service people are disabled and steemit is a great outlet and place for them to find each other and get support. This is supposed to be a community platform.

I also wanted to add a huge thank you to @acidyo as he was kind to me in my early days and delegated me enough to get my slider and it made my experience 1000x's better and he continues to help many new users with some delegation, upvotes, he created @OCD and funds it with his own steem power, he is part of sandbox project, resteems users who tag items ocd-resteem, he curates all of decentmemes.com and give EVERYONE a chance to upvote the daily OCD nominations prior to his upvoting them which gives us all a chance to find new users to follow and gain max curation rewards. He can be a little rough around the edges or at least he is to me but I can not name any other single user who does more for the steemit community. He supports more users than most know support him,

Sweet stuff man. I have been contemplating this delegating thing out. I'm not sure how you mean delegating to each other gave you a double vote.. but I do want to delegate enough Steem to a couple newer users to get their slider. So I accept your challenge. I will post back once I complete it. It may take me a bit!

I wasn't 100% sure on the double pop of SP use. @themarkyman explains it better above. But any new user you do help once they have enough SP to have their slider they can delegate back the same SP to you in place of you recalling it so neither one of you lose that SP for 7 days.

A very nice delegation and showcasing of help somehow. Must continued and praised

and the delegation back would then last for eternity?

Delegation of SP only let's the person borrow it for as long as the person sending it leaves it without recalling. Once recalled no-one has the use of the SP for 7 days.

and the only way to avoid that 7 day period, you should never recall... hence the eternity ;)

Look at @thehumanbot. Its all together a different journey.

I think you should be able to vote for yourself if you are a minnow. Curation rewards are almost nil until you get to a certain reputation.
(In my opinion). Joy

Anyone should be able to vote or flag whoever they wish with their own account. I know I personally don't up-vote users who up-vote themselves or if I do it is for a very tiny 1% vote which is worth nothing. I believe this platform was made for giving and until these last few months that is what we had. Now we have a growing platform of users concentrating on what they get.

I agree. Joy

Interesting loophole you found there.

And great that you were able to delegate 500SP to your wife and get her more interested in Steemit. The family that Steem's together Stays together :)

We will see, yesterday she asked me "why" I had so many followers. Mind you the key word was "why" and not "how"

And what did you tell her? Your wit? Charming personality? Massive creativity?

I told her to shut it or I'd flag her account.

That's a cool loophole you guys found! Also, thank you for taking this initiative of helping new and less-powerful users in gaining a footing in this amazing platform. While there are many SP abusers out there, change can still be brought when the good guys take action.

Finding loopholes is a way of life.

Gotta find em loopholes to shoot scores.

I will not forget the boost you gave my post last month. You are doing great things for the community although you are full of @erodedthoughts. Haha. If people are willing to delegate some sp to minnows, I believe something great will always be around for everyone.
I marvel at my voting power when I see its 100% worth a HUGE amount of 0.00cents. There are some posts you just wish you have a slider to appreciate it but since most of us are in organic growth mode, we just sit back and comment alone. Or as it may be contribute our 1cent at favorqble days.

I am just a new person, but I have managed to accumulate approx 7sp in my first 11 days of actively contributing to this platform, I have done this by commenting alone and getting to know people. If someone replies to me, I always upvote them (unless it is spam or I have run out of voting power) even though my vote does not count for much (less than 1 cent), it shows that information was valuable to me, and it is great practice for when I do have enough sp to give a few cents. By practicing good habits and forming relationships through comments, I hope to have enough sp in a few months for a slider. Good things take time to build, as they say Rome wasn't built in a day

7SP in 11 days is better than my comments currently get me. Keep going and you will have very little issue growing.

thank-you I will. I am also having fun, which is why I love Steemit

good article@erodedthoughts
thank you for sharing

Holy shit I'm glad I read this post for multiple reasons. I had no idea that I haven't voted for ocd's witness yet, thought I did. Glad you made me check.

hi...I feel I am writing good original content but not many read my stories- could you please suggest what I could do to get some SP delegated to me?or which communities to join? thank you!
Ps: the money I earn here supports my greening efforts.

It is very had to say which group to join. I'd suggest starting in Steemit.chat General room and see if you find a like-minded user.

Thank you...I tried it there- but it was not feeling too cozy there- I am on a few discord channels as well.
And do you mind telling me how do I get SP delegated to me?

I personally asked in chat if anyone would make me a loan for my slider. @acidyo accepted and delegated me.

It is very hard to get delegation. That was the idea behind this post, I hope some people who have the power will search for a user that they enjoy reading and help them out.

I do video images and digital artwork for a living and was very impressed with the work @rubencress was doing so I helped him get his slider. I had never gave away my own money to someone else on this platform.

I delegated to my wife basically because my money is her money, I wasn't going to power down and send it to her. It was much easier to delegate it to her.

Thanks For Share Post Delegation
Good Job
