Intro to Steem Apps - 5 Reasons to Check out Dclick

in #dclick6 years ago (edited)

I've been meaning to try out Dclick for a while and excited to say this is my first Dclick post. My first thoughts after poking around a little bit is that this may be the project I make my next delegation too. I can see the advantage of creating multiples ways of monetizing your Steemit content.

DClick

I haven't used Google Ads and Analytics in a while, but the below overview page feels like the dashboard that was used for those platforms. I like it and hope they continue to improve this with more useful information (like maybe top tags or top supporters) and allow you to review performance for every post on Dclick you've made eventually and not just the past couple of weeks.

I'm going to start occasionally posting on dclick now for the following reasons:

  1. To support all Steem apps. Yes having ads on an "ad free" platform can be annoying, but I've seen some of the more popular posters on the platform already attempting to sell post space on their own. This allows smaller people on the platform with less influence to still have other ways besides relying on upvotes to monetize their content.

  2. I'm looking forward to SMTs and trying to accumulate a variety of SMTs before they are officially released. I wasn't an early bird to Steem and hoping that some of these SMTs start to take off during the next bull market and take full advantage of being an early adopter while at the same time supporting great projects.

  3. To understand better my reach on the platform. A lot of upvotes that people receive on this platform are automated. Seeing some feedback on the number of real people that are clicking on ads will be beneficial to me as I like numbers and increasing my already over-inflated ego! It would also be nice if they included the number of people who saw your ad or your post since that's not included on Steemit anymore. LOL

  4. One way I'd like to test ads is increase the exposure of referral links I have, but it's also going to be to help give exposure to communities I believe in. Part of my way to giving back to these communities will be to hopefully front some or all of the costs to advertise the different contest, events, or benefits that can be obtained from joining said communities. I'm hoping this could be another way to help spread the word to new audiences that might not see your or your communities posts.

  5. This is also a great way to reach those that might not otherwise see your post. Steemit doesn't have a great way for people to discover new content since bid bots allow the same people to buy their way into hot and trending Dclick ads may be a different way for you to get the word out about something.

Money Money Money!

I like getting paid out in DClick Tokens and have not problem with that. Especially not for delegation and monetization, however, I wish that you could use Dclick Tokens to pay for ads as well as Steem. Currently, the only crypto that can be used to purchase an Ad is SBDs.

I think it's ok, just not preferable, to use Dclick tokens to purchase upvotes, but I'm wondering how many Dclick tokens it takes for a decent vote. If it's reasonable then when posts start paying out in SBD again, then you can convert Dclick tokens to purchase ads in a very slow (waiting for a 7-day payout) roundabout way.

As talked about above they also have a reward system for delegating SteemPower to Dclick. 30% profit from the weekly based leases, 30% of the Dclick tokens issued, and most recent post will be advertised for free. Doesn't seem like a bad deal, but once again I think it depends heavily on how many tokens you receive and what kind of upvote that can get you.

Final Thoughts

As of now I don't plan on making every post from Dclick, but I'm excited to see that it allows me to possibly earn money on posts even after 7 days (I can earn money from clicks as long as the ad that is at the bottom of my post stays "live".

If I'm reading this information in the FAQ section it appears that receiving more clicks on an ad in a short period of time (less than a day) is possibly a good thing when advertising with Dclick because your cost doesn't exceed .1 per day. I'll have to experiment with this more in the future because this could possibly be an awesome advantage of using Dclick to advertise especially in crypto.

I would have liked to see a referral system in place, but I don't. If I missed it let me know in the comment section below, but I think it would help more people spread the word if you had a small incentive to spread the word.

Overall, I'm very excited about trying it out and seeing how much more money I can make (if any) using dclick and how well ads I may start in the future perform. Only time will tell, but I hope Dclick is a platform that is here to stay for the long haul on the Steem platform, and it would be excited to see if they could branch out to other social crypto platforms as well, which I would think would be an advantage for everyone using Dclick.

If you've enjoyed these giveaways and are considering signing up for SteemMonsters I would greatly appreciate anyone who decides to use my Affiliate Link as it will help keep great articles like these coming out for this amazing game.
