'Adorable Rexy,'

Rexy belongs to my grandson........technically....... but no-one can resist his very endearing personality, so EVERYONE makes claim to being the most important human in Rexy's life.

But Rexy doesn't think he is a dog. He is convinced that he is another human within the extended Hunter family. But he has adopted a strong sense of entitlement which ensures he gets the best seat in the lounge, the warmest spot in my granddaughter's bed and a whatever is eaten by the family......particularly when there is a BBQ cooking in the back yard.

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. These small dogs are classed as a toy dog by the Kennel Club and the American Kennel Club. They originated in the United Kingdom. This breed has grown in popularity since 2000 and they rank as the 18th most popular pure-breed in the U.S.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are characterised by their silky smooth coats and equally smooth, undocked tails. They range in colour but are often a mix of two or three colours which include chestnut, white, tan, black and ruby.

They are known for their friendly natures and are very affectionate with children and other animals making them ideal family companions. These dogs need plenty of attention and do not like being left on their own for lengthy periods. The expected average lifespan for King Charles Spaniels is approximately ten years.

During the late 17th century, the Caviller King Charles was interbred with flat-nosed breeds and until the 1920’s, the Cavallier and the smaller King Charles Spaniel shared the same history. Then breeders attempted to recreate what they though was the original configuration of the breed which was more like Charles 11’s King Charles Spaniel of the Restoration. As with many dog breeds, there are certain health issues with this particular one.

I hope the weather stays good for you, The weekend has semi started for me as I am telecommuting and going for a Drs appointment today,
the weather today is rainy and wet, but thats Ok as tomorrow the forecast is for a nice sunny weekend which I am looking forward to it

Well, thank you John. As he is getting older, he is slowing down alot, but I am sure he thinks he is human at times. He would much rather spend his time with people than dogs or cats, after all, he has already claimed my son's wife's recliner in their lounge room. lol.
