Time to give more love. First of a series of Curation posts

Priscilla Hernandez yidneth - by priscilla Hernandez (yidneth.com) - Priscilla Hernandez.jpg

So since a few days ago this SMALL MINNOW is a BIG MINNOW... :) I kind of feel like a small mouse inside a bigger suit, It is a bit overwhelming but equally exciting and I'm really grateful to @msp-makeaminnow and @Eturnexx for providing me 5000 SP delegation for the following weeks. Thanks also to @mfxae86 (previous winner) for the encouragement and advice. It's going to be a challenge as these weeks are rather hectic for me and I'll make it reach out. Expect some leafy green tender hearts on your way!

I will try to make it reach to as many as possible but still I wanted to write some curations posts to grant full votes to a selection now that my vote is like 10 times more powerful than usual. I will resume @dlive concerts too including some curation specific threads. They will have different themes: High Quality blogs, Music Curation, Curations of Curations (Cura-inception) but each one will include too also a couple of "Contests" (as ways of promote engagement) and "Charities".

So here we start!

What makes a High Quality Steemit blog?

This might be a subjective and depend on our personal taste... still we all can "spot" a shitpost and distinguish a high quality, well written article from a non formatted mess with no meaningful content... We know what's a consistent blog with original content and what is a hurried post with the only purpose to mine some quick money sometimes with "copy-pasted" stolen contents. Can we still see the value even if topics are out of our interest? I think we do. And sure, most of them are not precisely trending... but thanks to all the teams of Curations they get a chance to be seen. And Curation is not only on the shoulders of @curie and @ocd (bless you both) but ALL OF US as users. We all have a great power, encouragement, a voice. We all as content creators enjoy someone stops by and say... you are doing a good job. And to most of us, despite scarce rewards, it can make a difference to keep us engaged in the platform.

Please feel free to recommend me your favourite ones on the comments! (not yourselves, please but people you think deserves more love). I will review them for forthcoming features and it will also help me to discover new talented fellow Steemians. The only one condition... recommend another one that is not yourself but someone you genuinely enjoy reading and you think has high quality as a blogger. If you feel someone is worth to be checked by all means share it down there :)

I try my best on my own though feedback about my own feed is also welcome, and fee free to advice what you think It could be improved. Meanwhile, here there are some examples I hand picked:

3 examples of what I consider High Quality Steemit bloggers (Drop your suggestions in comments)

Here are 3 examples of what I consider fine bloggers here on Steem. Consistently posting high quality content and always a joy to revisit:

@photovisions

Selection of photographies by @photovisions

This is one of the first accounts I followed when I first joined Steemit and one I usually return to because of its beauty . The quality of his photography is amazing, even in shorter posts they stand out. At first glance you find all these stunning shots and there is no doubt we are talking about a professional photographer sharing his visions of our planet through his eyes. He often shares longer posts and compilations, even curation initiatives, contests and some in depth amazing tutorials, like how to make moody "low light" Nature pictures, or how to make photos of Northern Lights. Both landscapes and macro details... the whole feed is consistent and a joy to explore. If your spirit is a traveler this is a must-stop blog.

@llfarms

llfarms_mosaic.jpg

Justine is another of my favourite blogs on Steemit... A homesteader, lover of the beauty of a slower life... she never misses the beauty of an unfurling flower, the warmth of sunset, the gentle breeze... She would not miss it and thus she share that with you. She is also a curator from @curie and knows her job well... Her blog is well formatted, eye-catchy and wether she shares a random walk and fairy house fungi, her recipes or organic home remedies or thought provoking thoughts about curation, there is an utter respect for Nature exuding from every post... @llfarms blog is a peaceful place run by a gentle spirit... and you quite feel like wanting to have a hot mug of tea and seat by her porch, and hear the crickets while twilight darkens into a starlit night. A little haven for me.

@zen-art

zen-art.jpg

@zen-art Petra is a good example of multi-disciplinary blog. It is true that sometimes you would suppose niche-specific blogs would be better, but there is a coherent thread that gathers Petra's post... She's spiritual, positive and curious and that "gathers" and connects all her posts seamlessly.
From her personal Ulogs to scientific essays, almost every single post is excellently formatted and with a clear amount of research behind. From meditation, how to deal with emotions, spiritual themes to thought provoking scientific essays... From cute DIY and crafts to a yummy smoothie... Petra is an entertainer... and a motivator. She is positive and knows well how to engage her readers to come back for more. Another must stop in my opinion. And always will leave you muttering How interesting

So What makes a high quality steemit blog for you? Which are your favourites?

I try my best on my own, though feedback about my own blog is welcome. And I provided examples above of three feeds that engaged me as a follower... but what are your favourite feeds and why? what makes them extraordinary? Drop your suggestions, I will try to review them. Meanwhile next week I will upload another selection of this kind.
But I'm compromised to make several curation posts during this weeks and next stop is "Curation of Curators". Because sometimes you have to give for what you receive. Stay tuned!

Contest of the Day: TEAM OF TWO ( A good example of building bonds between Steemit artists)

Talented illustrators @veryspider and @scrawly have come up with an excellent idea to engage visual artists not only to participate in it but to collaborate with each other and who knows maybe trigger partnerships between artists... I think it's a humbling idea to have to get together to create a work of art... I can see this idea easily spread into other Art disciplines.

Charities of the day

Here a couple of charities and calls we have upvoted today... Go and show your love

@Tygertyger has made several times distress calls... She's taking care of many animals included handicapped and all she asks is for a little support for supplies and food. She is a warrior dealing with some serious health issues too, but still generous to take in animals in dire situation. Anything is welcome, even an upvote.

And also @lindahas charity to collect fruits and snacks for a School of Children in Bangladesh @SchoolForSDG4 She has been doing these 57 weeks in a row. She is a generous soul and always so quiet and humble about it.

And also @tarc has uploaded a post linking to a fundition.io crowdfunding for their dog shelter run by noble witness @rhondak. If you can't donate at least consider to upvote:

Curation series will go rounds with these basic themes: What's next!

  • High Quality Bloggers: Like this post... what do you think should trend?
  • Curation of curators and communities: Because you have to give back for what you receive. Thanks to all of you for your work. It will feature curations by teams like @curie @ocd and @c-squared but also curations done by users and initiatives that though lacking voting power never fail to encourage
  • Music and Art curation (yes, it includes poetry and writing too)
  • Underrated Steeamians: especially for those dwelling in the dreadful zeroland
    Stay tuned!!

I want to say thanks also to @helpie and @thealliance for providing me a safe space and a family to belong too.
Remember we may be plankton or minnows in a vast ocean... the feeling is overwhelming... but we can gather and be a big shoal. We gather and we grow together

Brandnew NEWS... @helpie is now a WITNESS (I'm going to vote for it like right now) because:

Congratulations on a very impressive and beautiful first curation post @yidneth :-) Makes me think: "Is there no end to your talents?" <3

And I agree wholeheartedly with your choices here :-) Thanks so much for all you do for all of us <3

For great quality posts I would recommend yours of course ;-) But also and equally:
@zipporah
@meno
@paintingangels
@pechi (have you seen his last post?)
...
And so on... That's my problem here: there's so much of you and only one of me. Impossible to keep up :-)

You'll do just fine without my advice :-) Thanks again, @yidneth <3

@zipporah was under the radar for this first post but she had not posted when I drafted and already told her she would be in any of the curations, because she stands out eith a magnificent feed. meno will be oknthe curators communities post, my sweet pechiband Serena in he music and art one

Priscilla, you are a brilliant shining spark to this multiverse! Congrats on leading the blind to a new level of artistic inspiration! This is a wonderful perspective of the journey and interactive community. I remember first finding you, your paintings of ravens and crows which I have loved since childhood, and being completely mesmerized by your music. I was searching for bands and music to bring to festie. I showed the faerie clan your site way back in the day, wasn't for another year till Kelly found you again, I'm really glad that happened and we made soo many fun memories! Funny how the wheel of karma brought us to yet another community. I seriously value this post. I came across Steem from learning about crypto last Fall and it seemed super fascinating how this entire matrix/platform supported the arts, blogging, music, writing, crypto all kinds of fun stuffs, without propaganda, like true cyber heart connections again, such as the old days of MySpace or Tribe. Remember Tribe, anybody? I've been working on re creating my divine assignment on planet awesome and blogging/vlogging is making the list. As a primitive computer skills person and photographer this is quite the challenge, I think it took me a week to figure out how to make my photo straight up and down and not flip every time I loaded it! So, believe me any tips help! I was on Discord super helpful, however it hijacked my laptop and everything kept freezing up so still gotta figure that out. One thing I would love to do is make some fun banners, any suggestions on how to do that? Voting for @helpie witness now! Gonna check out your examples of quality as well! Lookie what's been on my wall in the living room all these years

Thanks again for this I truly value your insight!

Install discord on your phone, believe me once you are there you will understand, once there I will surf you around. Yay for voting for @helpie once in discord you will understand better.
I miss you, and Kelly too. I dreamt of her in fact.
I think of you bouncing in your violin over the ball, or doing sparkles in my hair or blowing us away with those songs of yours at faeriecon. Get to @openmic asap
And once in discord dm me I will make @meno or @paintingangels kidnap you. They know I only recommend the best people

Hope to cross paths again

Hugs

YAY !!!! good work, see i told you that you would be on it, look at all the great stuffs you put together :) BOOM it just comes together and strikes like a bolt of lightning :) much love

Congratulations!

My idea of quality is based on the person, if a person can use the tool of steem to advance their goals of being happy and fulfilled person, then that for me is 'quality'. It is different for everybody. I like to see people becoming more empowered, not necessarily a certain format or layout.

Thank You so much for being chosen to Your post as an example of good quality blog here in steem environment - that is quite funny because I think the same about Your blog and Your posts and works which You share with us!
As @scrawly wrote - You are making top notch posts and this one is on the same level. As an artist You present fantastic talent in drawing, photography, music composing and singing... what else is needed to call a person a true artist!
I am just making photos, You are making The Real Art! And for this I thank You, because many times I found really great peace and relax when listening Your songs.
Keep doing Your job because it is great! All the best for You and Good Luck in future!

I always return to your feed when in need of the soothing and calming feeling of being blessed by a beautiful and unique planet... You do create beauty and you are a real artist yourself... :) I remember I first stumbled upon you with a Northern Light picture and I mentioned I dream of them... bit I always return, and that's because it's worth :) Congratulations and thanks immensely for your lovely compliment back too :) blush!

Woohoo!!! I'm so proud of you and happy for you! Totally deserved, and what a great post! Thank you for letting me know that @helpie is now a witness. Gotta go get that vote in pronto! :)

I must see to it myself soon, did not do today but fixing that right away tomorrow

How lovely of you give something back. Thank you for your kind words honey, I am glad you enjoy my posts and your support is always appreciated, as is your love and kindness. Much love honey, stay you! 💚

Aww Petra you are so very welcome :) it really made me happy to write it.

Priscilla you are always making top notch post, even your curation blog is formatted very prettily <3.

And thank you for featuring the contest. I hope it will attract more people to enter and make new friendship on this platform :).

You are so very welcome... I may edit and make a few changes to make things more bold but thanks so much for the compliment too :). I intend to do some music and art curation too... well the mistress there is @isaria who is doing an amazing job herself... so I'll link to hers and I'll add some pictures... But it's my time to be able to give some love back... I usually do but now feels a greener leaf :)

This is amazing to get this delegation, you must feel like a genie gave you a wish, now which three wishes to use it on? ;)

In your first image, of the green leaf, I cringed a bit because as gardener when I see that leaf, it is the bindweed. And boy is it a bugger to control, it'll strangle a garden in no time. Not that that is pertinent to this post, but just wanted to share it :)

It really is a tough question about quality posts and I suppose it depends on what you love reading. I am an artist so I love reading other artists posts, even when they simply share a bit of their current work without much text, as I know how much a piece of artwork speaks volumes, and I also love reading wordy posts as well, that pull you in with story and such. So many good ones out there. I was going to start listing them but I realize there are so many I couldn't narrow it down to a few. I guess I'll leave that to you, with great power comes great responsibility or something like that :)

Congrats big minnow :)

Oh no, I just thought it looks like a green heart :) I feel lazy to change it now cos I'm at the phone but will do shortly, though I kind of like the pic and I think I've shard it before... now all gardeners may think the post is absolutely about something else LOL hahaha

I agree sometimes an artwork doesn't need such big posts... it's about CONVEYING, of feeling meaninful... a short poem can convey, a superfluous long post could not... but I think overall we fill...when there is substance and when there are empty fillers...

thank you :) !! :)
trying to do some good!

Oh no, don't change it, I just meant when I see it I get that little start. It's too bad as they are a pretty plant with lovely flowers, a form of morning glory, they are just really invasive but lovely anyway :)

Your balance is below $0.028. @dustsweeper is now disabled for your account until you transfer new funds. Check out the Dustsweeper FAQ here: https://steemit.com/dustsweeper/@dustsweeper/dustsweeper-faq

This a a great idea and it is so nice you realized the most awesome way to take advantage of the delegated power :) I want to recommend @jungwatercolor . Every time I come back to the platform, I go to her profile and there is always something beautiful to see.

Aw good taste :) there are several curations plotted and one is about "music and art" :) already under the radar :)
