There's a real irony in seeing @squishysquid is buying and planting dandelion seeds -- and that @sagescrub is busy selling them. Used to be you couldn't kill the things if you waged war on them full time, although Monsanto may have poisoned half the earth trying.
Now people are recognizing what herbalists have known for years. Dandelions are incredibly healthy. Some people like the leaves in salads, although I think they taste pretty bitter. But there are plenty of other ways to get the benefits from them. And our homesteaders here on Steemit are making sure the product keeps growing.
Remember, the phrase "growing like a weed" when referring to children didn't enter the lexicon for nothing. Good luck with your garden, @squishysquid. I hope your kids enjoy the flowers as much as I did when I was their age -- and the "make a wish" moments blowing on the fluff and launching it!! Good to see the tradition lives on.
I appreciate the nice comment @enchantedspirit :) We are doing the work of trying to remember some of the old ways while combining with the new ways. We can't go backward but we sure can appreciate the wisdom of the people that came before us and the wisdom of nature.
