Working Title (MSP Creative Writing Curation)
Can’t tell front from back
nor strands of hair from winter vines
and you’re just as peculiar as me
You're Just As Me by @paintingangels reminds me of Sylvia Plath- the rhythm, the switch from the almost punishing feel of the rhyming couplets....
Not an inkling how they portray roles,
That was outright pouring down the holes;
Mastered the labyrinth of tongues telling lies, Without flinching—not even batting an eye.
The Labyrinth of Tongues Telling Lies by @michellpiala drew me in simply from the title. Each stanza has a different rhyme scheme, which moves you through the piece and adds to the disjointedness, the lack of connection between the speaker and their subject.
I obsess over endings,
Empty passions—
And nightly reverberations.
Musings in Storms by @johnjgeddes is a good sample of his poetry in general- full of love and longing, and a line that echoes an emotion you forgot you'd ever had.
