Working Title (MSP Creative Writing Curation)
![]The blank page is staring at me in derision. Writing a horror story is difficult. Why? because scaring humans can only have so many possibilities.
Bloody intestines, emo vampires, sexy witches, gloopy aliens, retired mothers- in law...the list is endless.
How Not To Write a Horror Story by @diebitch features the dry wit that she is generally known for. If you aren't familiar, check out some of her satire- she's a fantastic writer, and tickles my funny bone in an entirely inappropriate way.
But it was him or me, and as much as I liked him, I like me more.
I had to Kill Him by @sbedwards is a great piece of fiction. I hate to give anything away but..... ah screw it. Just check it out.

Just Breathe by @tanglebranch is such a strong piece of short fiction. And there is 0 way to describe it without giving away the twist. It's 100 words. Trust me.
His plump cheeks flush red,
urging my hands to grab them
and stretch them out
as if his face were pizza dough.
Heartbreaker (The White Kid) by @poetrybyjeremy is fascinating take on the things we say to kids, and the interplay of race.
The poet speaks of roses, lilies gay,
bright daffodils and multicolor beds,
like rainbows all their hues of light had bled,
good natured sweets which glad adorn his day.
A Toy and Flower by @marlyncabrera uses a Petrachan sonnet to present the problem of being a poet.

Thanks for these great suggestions. I have been away from steemit for a while and was looking for some posts to respond to. I am finding less writing than I remember and far more "quick" posts with an image and a few words. I myself like to explore creativity. Especially from those just learning to spread their wings. It is encouraging.
I find that the writing discords really help me find other great writers- they tend to congregate there :)
