Nov 2 - Steemit Ramble #44 - Don't You Hate it When You Miss Good Posts?
I’m just three followers away from hitting 300. I recently passed 1k on my Steem Power and have over 1k posts. On Saturday I will have been on Steemit for three months.
Small steps can move a person forward just as much as long strides, they just take a bit longer. I see posts around the site where people want to see those long strides, they feel disillusioned as the price of STEEM drops and they don’t see drastic action to turn it around.
It does get concerning, but when I see posts from people like @timcliff who updates us periodically on what is being discussed and worked on behind the scenes, small steps, I am willing to stay the course. Others are not as willing to be patient.
I’d rather see them move slower and what they roll out actually works than to roll out changes in haste and they become a clusterfuck.
Onward to today’s rambling
Why I am happy with my 2c steemit posts!
I like the attitude @virtashare has here. Positive about Steemit and here to grow the site instead of focusing on trying to grow the wallet. Like Zig Ziglar said, “you help others to get what they want, you will get what you want”, eventually.
The Battle of the Monkey and the Crab -- A Japanese Folktale
@boxcarblue writes an interpretation of a Japanese folktale about a bullying monkey and his victim the crab. A very good read.
5 Months on Steemit - what I have learned and tackling some misconceptions
@thecryptofiend writes about his five months on the site and addresses many of the issues which has been talked about on the site recently. One of them is the witness payout that has been much discussed. Don’t forget to read the comments and even add some of your own.
First Steemprentice Hangout Session! This Sunday at 2pm CST! Anybody is Welcome to Join.
@sykochica announces a hangout on Mumble (a chat server) for anyone who wants to talk about Steemit. @sykochica is the founder of the chat group on Steemit Chat called SteemPrentice. The purpose of the group is to help newbies understand how to use the site and gain traction. She’s done a lot of work to help others.
Last Signs of Life Before Winter
@pfunk managed some terrific shots of insects in this post. They are the sort of shots that takes a keen eye to even find and see the possibility before aiming the camera. Nice work.
Printed books vs E-books: a losing battle?
@annielee writes about the tug-of-war between printed books and ebooks. I appreciate printed books and have shelves of them sitting in my house but the bulk of my reading these days is done electronically. Some people still prefer printed books, I’m not sure that we’ll reach a point where books wont be printed. Especially special edition type books.
How to Water your Steem Money Tree and Power it Up to the Sky!
@richardcrill writes about how he’s working to build up his Steem Power during this time of low SBD’s on posts. He has all his posts go to 100% STEEM. It’s a great time to do this, build up your standing on the site rather than lament not earning dollars.
NED TALK - Inflation
@ned stopped into SteemSpeak on Discord on Saturday and chatted for about an hour. Listen into the recording archive to hear what he had to say.
Wrap-up on Day 44
What a busy day today. I’m glad I managed to get the Ramble done, even though it took all day. Had to run into town to pick some things up and then back to the branch to be available for people wanting to register for Christmas Hampers, that program is now underway.
I went home, changed, relaxed and started listening into SteemSpeak while I worked on the Ramble. Glanced up at the clock at 6:15 and realized I had to be in the village at the Library for an event by 7pm. Tomorrow I am supposed to go into town in the evening for the opening of an event at the Art Gallery.
Supporting and Upvoting
Let’s not forget folks. I’m sharing these posts not only because I like them. I’d really like to see them get support and upvoting. I know some of the posts have done okay by the time I post my ramble, but some really could use the support and upvoting.
Subscribing to My Posts
In addition to following me on Steemit, which I really appreciate. If you want to be sure to know about every post, you can subscribe at my other blog. I’ll send you an email when I post.
Congratulations! It won't be long until that 300 is 3000! I wish my vote was worth more because I love all the hard work you put in but sadly it barely counts for even 1 cent most of the time. Anyway hopefully resteeming will help.
Congratulations! I like checking your Ramble. I have found some good posts that way. Thanks!
Just followed, you're almost there:)

Always exciting reads!
