Archdruid Gaming: Author Showcase Issue 11

in #curation6 years ago

Majority of these posts from our community this week share a common theme. They were submitted as an entry for the Emotional Game Moments contest. Gaming can have quite a wide range of topics and expressions in it that it can really be explored with so many different lenses.

Many who have entered into this contest have found themselves with a lot of passion and put in the effort as they find it hard to narrow it down. Which is always great to see from a community standpoint and a pleasure to read all the entries that we so far have gotten.

Author 1

creativetruth.png

@Creativetruth tends to write about gaming and his gardening efforts. Which most would not assonate with each other but they do have an interesting crossover. You will find that his fine attention to detail and planning in his Bonsai among other gardening projects really translates over well in creating a narrative in his gaming posts as well.

If you are gamer chances are you understand rage towards a video game at one time or another. In his The Rage of Duck Hunt you truly get to understand that. We often have those games of the past that just hit us the wrong way. In this game perhaps the entire world. Quite an interesting conclusion he draws at the end. As a former Duck Hunt player myself I guess I now have a criminal defense if I ever need one using this game a shield!

Author 2

pipiczech.png

@Pipiczech as of late has been creating a mix of content from dlive and written gaming blogs. Even more recently about some wonderful life changes as well—Congratulations! We are really glad to see she is back to making gaming content again as well! She always puts a lot of effort into what she creates and it really showed in this one.

Dealing with toxicity in the video game industry can really be a downer on a gamer’s soul. It can often drive people away just because of how bad a community can be. In her Emotional cocktail in multiplayer games we get to see several games that have been known to have that issue. Some of them are just downright frustrating while others well we know we should behave better but games do get the better of people from time to time.

Author 3

gamingstation.png

@Gamingstation has been focusing on some f2p games as of recent. If you are looking for a gamer who just gets to the point this is your place. He tends to cover things from the first impression to game reviews.

Why just cover one emotion when you can just cover a large array of them? That is exactly what he did in his How video games make me feel all the feels. While the post itself is longer than most that he writes. Each section is in his typical fashion of short and to the point. It is almost like reading the different emotional states a gamer could face in a single game. Except it shows examples across so many different games. When people think games are only about violence and hate they really are looking into the shallow end of what games can offer.

Author 4

fromage.png

@Fromage is an amazing storyteller who is always looking for a way to create something unique that can often be missing on Steemit. One approach is working with other authors and creating collaboration on writing a narrative using a back and forth approach. This in itself would be enough reason to want check out this author. This is however not why we are not stopping by him this week as our community is interested in his gaming post most of all!

Gamers often have that one game that keeps bringing all their old friends back together again to enjoy the good old days as they were. Sometimes that is an online game and other times it is a board game such as the case in The Flip. This post also has a very important take away about never knowing when it will be the last time. No matter how much you grow apart from people in life it’s always nice to have something to still bond over while you still can. Perhaps we all should go out and play a board game with a friend we have not seen in ages today.

Author 5

otemzi.png

@Otemzi is a game reviewer who tends to write about fps, moba, and battle royal genres of games. His reviews can be comparisons with other games in the industry to see how they stack up. Also such things as breakdowns focusing on certain aspects of a game like classes, characters, or a game mechanic. It can be a great source if he covers a game you enjoy playing as he tends to stay up to date on many of the main ones out there in these genres.

In one of his updates on League of Legends, we learn there is a new event that they carried out on the European servers called Aram-Arama. In it, he goes over what it is and just how this mode came to be about. It is always interesting to read the players perceptive even when they have not been playing a game for very long. You can see how game developers try and influence the player bases participation by offering rewards for completing certain tasks such as this event did as well. Sometimes events live up to our expectations and other times they land rather flat.

Come here truffle, truffle, truffle ;)

Thank you for including my post *feels blushed

I like the 5 authors mentioned here, and now followed them all. Already familiar with @Otemzi and I can vouch for @Fromage writing power.

Had some chats with @pipiczech and probably @creativetruth if I remember correctly. The only one that seem unfamiliar is @gamingstation.... F2P? if not MMO I really should check that out!!

Hello there @ahmadmanga. Now we know each other :D

I write about F2P (since I'm the FreeMMOStation.com guy) but here on Steemit I write about other games as well. Wish I had more time to do stuff and it would definitely steer farther from F2P, as there are so many awesome games right now that I just can't keep up with everything. Life is Strange 2... :)

I feel the same:

as there are so many awesome games right now that I just can't keep up with everything.

About LiS2 I have just read an amazing post by @techmojo mentioning it!

Yeah, seems like they want the game as much as I do :) I have to pick my games wisely, as all the money in the world won't be enough for what is coming xD

Haha totally agree, I wrote something to that effect in my comment on that post!!
