Curie Weekly Update (16th Jan 2017 to 23rd Jan 2017)
In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on our project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.

- Curie continues its focus on supporting new authors. Semi-established authors are supported by Steem Guild.

Important News
We have started on Curie's frontend with @xeroc and will be implemented on Streemian. It's still a work-in-progress but will be completed soon. There will be a comprehensive announcement when it's done. As the work on the front/backend progresses - we are making sure that the system will be made transparent as possible to benefit the open-source community in the long-term.
Weekly Statistics
Over the last week, Project Curie curated a total of 549 posts at an average of 78 posts per day. A total of 390 unique authors were rewarded. The numbers are slightly higher this week due to noticeably higher user activity in the past two days.
SBD 8,802 was generated at an average of SBD 16 per post. The numbers are slightly higher this week, again due to curation activity and also a higher price of Steem at the beginning of the week.

We've increased this section to top 20 to better represent at least 5% of authors that was rewarded by @curie. There are only three repeats in this list. As for @curie graduates, we have sent a long list of names to Steem Guild recently. Keep up the awesome work!

We upvoted 196 posts submitted by curators in #curie, with 1,568 STEEM paid out / pending payouts to curators. These numbers are almost 40% down from our New Year edition of The Weekly Curie, due to tighter guidelines and limitations imposed by a limited budget.
This has caused the "middle-class" of community curators to disintegrate as we have started to limit submissions per user, according to display of consistency in quality of curation. With that, please take note that the ladder will not be a great representation of quality curators, although they have from time-to-time shown quality curation, following a set of guidelines (that may be too much for some, which is why we're planning to automate guideline-checking as much as possible).
However, things will change up for the Curie community as we launch the frontend sometime soon!
