Classical-Music Curation Number 10

Phew, time flies! I was looking forward to an evening of gaming now that the kids are in bed, but I noticed that it was time to write this! So, I will do my duty and then it is pleasure!

One tiny point of clarification, if I resteem you more than once in a curation cycle, I will only send you one share of the curation. I think it is fairer for everyone, and I don't have to try and avoid some really good stuff if you already have done something great before!

This is a curation of all the interesting stuff that has crossed in front of the #classical-music community this last week!

Please post in #classical-music if you want the support of the two community accounts (@classical-music and @classical-radio). The accounts are manually curated and it is too time consuming to chase posts all over steemit! Please help us out by flying the community colours, the cut and paste code is the Discord.

If you haven't done so already, consider following the curation trail at SteemAuto and also following @classical-radio on your fanbase. Easy to do, helps support the community and you get easy curation rewards!

Comment, upvote and resteem (this and each other)! As we grow as a community, the rewards for everyone grows!

Onwards to the interesting stuff!

Listening

@grayarty leads off with a beautiful performance of A Day In November by Leo Brouwer and An Alm For The Love Of God, worth a listen, it is some great playing!

The duel of the two guitarists continues with @guifaquetti playing a Valsa by Ferdinando Carulli.

BUT! There is a new contender on the horizon, another guitarist, @talmid gives a great performance of Marabino by Antonio Lauro and Vals Venezolano by Lauro.

Enough of guitars, @moccamonica gives us some marvelous jazz singing with Someone to watch over me.

Pianist @giobardzero has a great rendition of the Nocturne in E-Flat (Op. 9 No. 2) by Chopin, great to get other instruments in that aren't guitars!

Is that a CELLO! Woohoo, more non guitar instruments! Here is @cellomusic91(I think he plays cello!), with Hallelujah.

Reading

We all love it when a student is passionate about learning their instrument! @nielfid has struck it lucky with this student who seems like an absolute joy to teach!

@musicapoetica has been taken over by the writings of the Director, Jorn Boysen. Put on your helmets, there is some serious musicological writing here in "A completion of Bach's lost Passion setting" Part 3 and Part 4

Bows bows bows, gotta collect them all! @zpedro talks us through the process of a bow rehair.

I studied Theoretical Physics at one point in my life, but this stuff eludes me. @laviq is on top of it though, and gives us some pointers with Classical guitar editing in Cubase AI.

Well, some of us are lucky enough to have a famous person in the family. Not me... but @verhp11 has a famous aunt who was a world famous violinist! Lucky you!

@gabymusica gives out an interesting music theory lesson. Can't forget the basics, but this is presented so well!

Me Me ME!

I'm in a slightly nerdy mode (although not as much as my friend at @musicapoetica) with this piece about Rubato, and the skill of NOT being together.

Blah blah blah, BattleTECH!!!!!!!

Competitions (let me know if I missed any)

Educator Showdown by @novili

Joke of the week (will be out tomorrow!)

Composer of the week taking recommendations for Peter Sculthorpe (Haha, I'm Australian!), Sweelinck, Allesandro Scarlatti or "Duke"Ellington.

Guess the music which I will be updating tomorrow with hints.

Administration stuff

All the SBD from the last curation has been paid out. My writing allocation returns back to 25% again, unless there is another large upvote like last time, in which case I will decrease it again! All posts featured here share in the rest of the SBD payout!
