@bengy

Here is my submission for Composer of the Week. Jean-Fery Rebel is a composer that is quite familiar to me as a Baroque specialist, and you can't go past his Les Elements (1st mvt Chaos) for pure shock value for anyone that isn't familiar with Baroque music beyond kid's pieces! It begins with chords that are notated 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 in figured bass, which basically means bash all the keys!

@laviq

I wasn't aware of J.F. Rebel, so I listened to some of his music. His music spans across the Renaissance era up to the Baroque era and reminds me equally of John Dowland's music as well as J.S. Bach's music along with some elements from Vivaldi's music. Of course as a French composer his music is lighter than Bach's, but deeper than usual Italian music. I want to share the "Tombeau de Monsieur de Lully" because it combines the melancholy of earlier music with some Italian elements. It also reminds me of J.S. Bach's Chaconne in D minor in a way.

Thanks to all the submissions, SBD shares of the Bolling and Ginestera post are on the way!
