I ❤️ curating, but my Upvotes are out of control!😲

I find myself getting lost in all the really amazing high-quality content and I just want to upvote it! All day!
Then I end up in the comment section and I want to upvote y'all there too! I basically love curating. I'm also a stickler for rules, so I be Googling sentences from your posts. Don't plagiarize. I'll catch ya. 😎
Currently, my upvote is worth a mere $0.06 at about 71%. SteemFTW tells me I have to wait 2 full days without voting to be up to 100% again.
I think my problem stems from Facebook. I used to LOVE Facebook. Like ... LOVE. I thought it could really help us connect with each other and eventually be a place where people could make a living (by utilizing Facebook's advertising/reach and connecting with a much larger audience than ever before). And it was working. For tons of people... and to be fair, still is. 😏
During the time Facebook was growing I came to the conclusion that if you are well-liked and participate, then social media can reward you (in one way or another).
So I started participating like a boss. 😎 I began liking EVERYTHING. I mean, things I liked. I didn't just throw around my vote like an autobot...😏 And I would comment. Really engaging comments. I started searching for others that did/enjoyed the same thing. I even made an advertisement for myself. Here it is. Proof. 😎 It was awesome.
Then... the politics came. (As you may note: I already knew the appropriate 'no politics' rule that was to come.) Social media, as we only first began to understand it, was changing. And not for the better.
Before our very eyes, we watched, completely helpless and without a voice, as our free speech and access to all of our followers dwindled to practically nothing. Now, we can PAY to reach an audience that already requests to see our content, providing that content doesn't somehow fall into the myriad of the new NOs of social media.
At first, those being told no, being censored, and being demonetized were a small targeted group. Yet, even as the first voice was silenced, no matter what was said, we entered into a new realm. One of whispers from the past and stories of science fiction novels. Now, no one is safe. 😔
While all of this has been happening we've all been fighting with each other, seemingly not even noticing the vast changes to our freedoms happening every day. It's downright terrifying.😲
I digress. It seems I've gone off on a tiny tangent on Facebook and the general injustices forming in our world.
Back to it.😏
I DID learn many great (and not so great) things navigating and growing with Facebook. One of which was liking (or upvoting) and engaging. I am so freaking excited that Steemit is now offering the exact type of rewarding, high-quality community I was hoping Facebook would become.
Yes, there are lots of problems. But I really think, with all the exceptionally intelligent folks working towards its success, Steemit could not possibly go the route of Facebook (the highly censored way). We do have to self-govern, but I think we CAN do that. I think we CAN be fair to one another. I don't think Steemit will ever be what Facebook has become. I feel Steemit has an overlying intelligence (or that's the goal 😃) where other social media simply doesn't.
What do YOU think? I mean, you're here, reading this, so you've got to at least believe in it a little, right?
My little rant was in lieu of me scrolling through my feed and tags and reading YOUR amazing content. I have to hold off. Create a little more. Find that balance. Thank you for being here... all of you. 😍

I tried to stop up-voting for a day to let my vote come up again as I also love to vote on the things I like reading, also comments and there is a lot haha! I lasted half a day and had to up-vote and comment on some posts. 😉
You may only have a 6 cent up-vote, but when you worked hard from nothing to get there and know it will keep growing over time, it makes you feel so good to see it happen!
I see it with my oldest brother who joined just over a week ago. He has his posts earning under 50 cents, or barely getting the few cents but it will start to grow soon enough.
As for Facebook, well that's just to chat to friends and be tagged in posts by my partner that relate to situations😂
It has gone downhill Facebook has.

I have worked to be able to give out those pennies and it DOES feel good. 😍
And Facebook, we've essentially broken up. I keep it for Messenger, as our phone service can be worse than our wifi. 😏 I still run a group on there I have to occasionally moderate too... But I only pop in every couple of days. Sad. Like losing a friend. 😟

Maybe you noticed from my name that I'm no longer a fan of YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and a few others. I don't like the whole, "We love free speech, as long as it's free speech that we approve of," censorship. I think we need to Steem Roll over their oppressive arses.
Lastly, I too have 'CUS,' (Chronic Upvoting Syndrome), and just so you know - shaking your laptop violently doesn't help you regenerate your voting power any faster. (Yes, I upvoted your weird post. Get ready for my big $0.01!)

And it's true, a LOT of content goes unseen. But that exactly how all social media works. You have to get followers.
The problem with Facebook (now) is you've built up a following (theoretically), but Facebook is now CHARGING you to show your followers (of a page) your content. Plus, depending on what you post, they simply just DON'T show it to folks.
At least here it's organic. There's no person deciding who gets to see what.
You still have to work for it, just like anything, though. Still no magic "I'm Rich!" pill you can take. If I find one, I'll let ya know.

It only does for pages, not for your personal account. Honestly, I don't think there's a way to get Facebook to show ALL your friends what you're sharing, unless, of course, it's hateful or political. 😒

I hear ya, loud and clear. I'm addicted to monitor my VP, even if my vote is worth jack all, because I just don't want to vote without actually giving something.
Comments are even much worse. Often comments are so hilarious that I wish we had an additional 'like' we could give. I love to like comments just because they are smart and/or snarky. Something which is usually not found in my content but that's 'nole different topic.

PRO TIP:
On the side of your feed there's a list of topics/tags. If you scroll down to the bottom you can SHOW MORE TOPICS. Once in that page you can organize by any of the column headers. It starts in alphabetical order. If you click on the PAYOUTS list it shows you what's making the most money.
Pick a topic! Find someone with pretty high reputation (they got there somehow) and see what THEY are curating. Suddenly, you'll find that YOU TOO are giving out the likes... not just willy-nilly, but because stuff on Steemit is AWESOME. So awesome.😎
Oh! Check out the tag STEEMSTEM. This is ALWAYS high-quality stuff about sciences.
And then there are also the memes. This is NOT where I spend my upvotes, but a lot of folks do. I'm not entirely sure why. But to be fair: I don't create memes, nor do I know what goes into making a really good one. I prefer words. 🤓
