🗞 Days After Launch, the EOS Blockchain Still Isn't Live

Days after first initiating its launch in an unorthodox, distributed process, the EOS blockchain isn't yet live, but so far, the software appears to be progressing toward that goal without major issues.

As profiled by CoinDesk, after raising a reported $4 billion over the last year to create the software necessary to launch the blockchain, the company that created it is leaving it to its community to actually get it off the ground. That doesn't mean there haven't been material updates, however, or that Block.one, the company in question, hasn't been involved in the initial booting effort.

🗞 Crypto and Twitter: A Toxic Combination, A Troubling Future

Not, perhaps, for the reasons you want. But they do say all publicity is good publicity. So, there you have it. The response to my column last week on layer-two solutions was mostly positive with the usual dose of critics, but it was the Ardor tribe who caught my attention when one reader's tweet, complaining that I hadn't mentioned the blockchain platform, prompted others to pile on with accusations of my bias and ignorance.

It got me thinking about how financial self-interest, which has always skewed people's perceptions of the media they consume, is being taken to a new level when crypto tokens are involved.

🗞 Steve Wozniak: Bitcoin Is ‘The Only Digital Gold’

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak said that “only Bitcoin is pure digital gold” in an interview June 4, reaffirming his belief in the cryptocurrency despite having sold most of his holdings.

Speaking to CNBC at the ongoing Money20/20 conference in Amsterdam, the veteran developer said he “bought into” comments from Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about Bitcoin becoming the “single currency” of both the internet and the world. Dorsey spoke at two events in March and May, where he predicted that Bitcoin would become the international currency of choice by 2028.

🗞 Coinbase Unveils Plans to Enter the Japanese Market

One of the largest US cryptocurrency companies, Coinbase, has unveiled its plans to enter the Japanese market in order “to accelerate the global adoption of cryptocurrency.” The company has been in talks with the country’s financial regulator to ensure compliance.

As part of our effort to accelerate the global adoption of cryptocurrency, today we’re announcing the launch of Coinbase’s office in Japan…we plan to take a deliberate approach to our rollout in Japan, which means working hand-in-hand with the Japanese FSA [Financial Services Agency] to ensure compliance with local laws at every stage.

🗞 Decentralized Exchange Compendium ‘Index’ Lists Over 200 Dex Platforms

Since the creation of bitcoin and the hundreds of other cryptocurrencies in existence individuals have been trading their assets for profit or for other coins. A great majority of people use centralized exchanges, even though many of them require strict identification policies or have lost funds due to hackers infiltrating their platforms. Over the past couple of years, there has been a proliferation of decentralized exchanges (Dex) that allow digital currency trading without relying on a third party to hold a user’s funds. Unfortunately, people might not be aware that there have been over 200 Dex platforms launched over the past few years, and a Github repository called ‘Index’ allows people to get a comprehensive overview of each decentralized exchange.

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion

Here is the chart of yesterday :

Here is the current chart :

As you can see, we had little moves UP but also DOWN and the result is that we are still sitting on our resistance line. We cannot consider these littles moves as a real break of that line and so we are still in a waiting mode to determine a direction. Patience is the key but stay also carefull because we could have a break out in both direction...
